CROCHET TERMS NEVER WRITTEN IN A BOOK
Here are some online terms you might encounter while surfing crochet sites and reading emails:
PAS = Pattern Acquisition Syndrome - When you buy patterns because you don't have that particular pattern and you need more because you just can't seem to get enough.
YAS=Yarn Acquisition Syndrome- When you visit your LYS 'just because' and buy yarn 'just because' when your closet is already full of yarn and you know you don't need any more.
LYS= Local Yarn Shop
HAS= Hook Acquistion Syndrome- Believe it or not, some people can't get enough crochet hooks! (I'm one of them! LOL)
Puffy= A puffy is a package you receive when you join an crochet exchange online on an email list group. It contains the crocheted exchange item and other various items that the sender would like to give....(i.e. soap, tea, fragrance, chocolate, and any other thoughtful additions.
Clunky=A clunky is a box with the crocheted item in it plus any additional thoughtful items.
FROG(v)=to frog is to rip out what you've crocheted....rip-it, rip-it, rip-it To visit the frog pond is to go a- ripping! You will most likely find other froggers there too!
LOL= Laugh out loud, laughing out loud, laughs out loud
ROFLPIMP=Rolling on the floor laughing peeing in my pants.
ROFLMAO= Rolling on the floor laughing my a** off.
THUD=The Usual Disclaimers- When someone likes a product from a company but is not affiliated in any way with that company.
UFO=Unfinished Object-How many unfinished crochet projects do you have in your closet?!
WIM=Works in mind-those projects that you have on your list to crochet and you probably already bought the yarn for!
WIP=Works in progress-those projects that you are currently working on.
