For each stage of your childs' life there are significant developmental milestones to observe. We have identified many of those milestones.
6 Months :
Smiles, laughs and squeals.
Exhibits friendliness toward strangers, but slightly uneasy yet when parents are not present.
Puts hand on breast or bottle while drinking, and may pat gently.
Responds selectively to the emotional tones of parents' voices.
Explores with head and eyes.
12 Months :
Seeks and finds hidden toys easily.
Gives objects on request.
Imitates hand and face gestures such as waving bye-bye, clapping hands, closing eyes.
Helps with dressing by putting arms out for sleeves and feet for shoes.
Is affectionate toward familiar people.
18 Months :
Drinks from a cup without spilling.
Raises and holds cup with two hands.
Removes shoes, socks, cap.
Imitates familiar actions such as sweeping floor, dusting, reading a book.
Amuses self, but prefers to be near an adult.
Alternates between independence and dependence on caregiver.
24 Months :
Uses a spoon to feed self.
Chews food well.
Raises and drinks from cup, then replaces it on table.
Plays beside but not with other children.
Is very possessive about toys-no sharing.
Clings to caregiver when tired or afraid.
Goes into tantrums when frustrated but can be distracted readily.
Demands a lot of caregiver's attention.
