You can use a POKéMON with CUT to cut down grassy areas. This way, you don't have to battle wild POKéMON.
Don't evolve a POKéMON with a stone when it's at a low level. If you do, it can't learn many attacks, except from TMs and HMs.
There are hidden coins on the floor in the Rocket Game Corner. Walk around and press "A".
If you're having problems winning at the Slot Machines in Rocket Game Corner, go to each machine and if you win 2 out of 4, stick to that one.
Use Pokédolls to defeat the ghosts in Lavender Town. You can buy them from the Celadon City Department Store.
To get a POKéMON to grow faster, put it at the top. When you get to fight, switch to another POKéMON that has a high level. The low leveled POKéMON will gain Experience Points when you win.
To catch hard-to-get-POKéMON, put them to sleep and get their HP really low. If it's one of those POKéMON you can only get once (or twice in the case of Snorlax), save the game before you fight them. This way, if you mess up, you can try to catch them again.
To get into Saffron City, give one of the guards something to drink (from the top of the Celadon City Department Store).
Graveler, Kadabra, Haunter, and Machoke must be traded to evolve.
HM01 (CUT) is found on the S.S. Anne.
HM02 (FLY) is found in the house above Cycling Road.
HM03 (SURF) is found in the Secret House in the Safari Zone.
HM04 (STRENGTH) is found when you give the Gold Teeth to the Warden in Fuchsia City.
HM05 (FLASH) is found at the second building you see at the exit of Diglett's Cave.
Eevee is found when you enter the back of a Celadon Mansion in Celadon City.
Mewtwo is found in the cave above Cerulean City.
Articuno is found in the SeaFoam Islands.
Moltres is found in Victory Road.
Zapdos is found in the Power Plant.
Trade a Poliwhirl for Jynx in Cerulean City.
Trade an Abra for Mr. Mime at the right of Route 2. Use CUT.
Trade a Slowbro for Lickitung between Fuchsia City and Cycling Road.
Trade a Spearow for Farfetch'd in Vermillion City
POKéMON you leave at the Daycare Center gain 1EXP for every step you take.
At the beginning of the game, there is a man at the top of Viridian City who will not let you pass. You must get a POKéDEX first.
There are 5 Moon Stones in the game:
On the first floor of Mt. Moon, in the upper-left-hand corner.
In Mt. Moon, before the Supernerd at the end, there is a small space 4 spaces long. Go to the end of it and press A.
There is one in the basement of Rocket Game Corner.
Use CUT, and go to the bottom right corner of Route 2.
Go to the POKéMON Mansion on Cinnabar Island. Go to the 5th pillar on the right side and press A.
If you go to the hotel in Celadon City, there is a hidden computer. When you enter, go up two spaces and go all the way to the right. Go up one space and press the A button. you will access a hidden computer. You can use it just like an ordinary one.
