Bugatti EB110 GT
Etore Bugatti’s 110 anniversary fueled the fire for the controversial Bugatti EB110. An engrossing ticket through the exploration of Supercars, an insight into history’s ever changing faces. It’s distinctive angles dominate the future of design yet the EB110 was destined to be immortalized by Bugatti’s achievements both classic and technological.

The forceful lines of the Bugatti EB110 revolt against the historic Bugatti and expose an untamed, boundless supercar. The visual impact congers thoughts of the staggering enormity in its powerplant. It’s exotic looks and composite shell attribute to the cars bold declaration in its engine size, the flawless and seemingly endless torque generates an awe inspiring red line while the pulsating quad turbo’s expand on the effortless V12’s power. The seductive grey leather and walnut smothered dashboard encompasses the driver, then entices the driver to push the car further and further through it’s seemingly endless power.

If thought is food for the mind the Bugatti EB110 is food for the soul. The Bugatti’s monstourus 12 cylinder encasing 60 valves and engaging quad turbochargers throughout its 8,200rpm redline produces 553bhp from 3.5 litres, then is put to the floor via a unique for its time 4wd system. The Bugatti’s engine does not sound like a regular V12, it has a low and impeccably distinguishable sound. The Bugatti does not commit to it’s syntilating supercars efforts until it’s beast is release at 3,500 plus rpm, with a docile blast of the right foot the Bugatti will blitz to 100km/h in blistering 3.4 seconds and 180km/h in 10.8 seconds then onto stable and forceful 341km/h.

The quad IHI turbo boost release is 1.2 bar, delivering a colossal 611Nm created at the forbidding side of 3,750rpm. The longitudinally mounted 60-degree V12 was created to meet the grueling task of becoming the worlds fastest production car, it’s aluminum engine block produces a seemingly low compression ratio of 7.5:1. The dry slump lubrication system was a joint effort of technologies from Bugatti inc. and Elf corp. Braking efforts were a devotion to powerful braking, Bosch inc. and Bugatti inc. developed and tested brakes of GT1 racing caliber to haul in the 1620kg monster, then evolved them in to massive 332mm cross drilled and ventilated ABS assisted brakes, placed at each corner and you gain the power of God in your left foot. To maintain at least contact with the tarmac a speed deployed rear spoiler is employed along with BBS low profile rims combined with Michelin tires :front 245/40s 18+9 :rear 325/30s 18+12. The unique 4wd system developed for the EB110 devolges 73 per cent of it’s 553bhp to the rear and the smaller portion of 23 per cent to the front for tractability during acceleration.

The interior calms the beastly outer world of the EB110’s skin and graduates past Supercar acclaim and into Luxury car status. As you enter through high arched scissor doors the interior seduces you with leather seats, steering-wheel and gear stick, while walnut panels enduing your soul redefines elegance. The extensive dashboard contains clocks, air-conditioning, all sports ready instruments, electric seating programming and a high amp’s stereo/CD player. While being smothered by opulence you remain seduced and ignorant of the outside world as it becomes a blur, the cabin is silent up to the forgiving side of 160km/h then an accending tone of octaves slowly breaks the silence into the roar of 553 horses breaking free.

The Bugatti EB110 was commissioned late 1989, the completed car was ready by 1990 yet waited to be unveiled exactly 110 years to Etore Bugatti’s name. The legend was released on September, 15th 1991, from then the EB110 immediately claimed the mantle of the worlds fastest production car. With a 343,100 pound sticker price this highly acclaimed exotica recognized for the intensity in its design and was from then on bound for legendary status.
