Almost daily, there are sales at various Mini-Warehouse or storage facilities. When a tennant of the facilities fails to pay his or her rental fees for their storage space, the owners have the right to seize the property within and sell it to the highest bidder to recover all or part of the delinquent amount they are owed. Our calender includes as many of these sales as we can learn about. Knowing about them; when, where etc. is valuable information. You should also be aware of the rules of participating in such sales. Failure to follw them could result in your being barred from future sales. Some of those rules are as follows:
1. Almost all facilities demand that you clean out each unit thoroughly within 24-48 hours of your successful bid. Some require a cleaning deposit along with the amount of your bid.
2. Some have minmum bids (usually $20)
3. You are only allowed to look into the unit. You may not enter the unit, or handle any of the contents.
Rules may be different for different facilities or by different auctioneers. It might be a good idea to call ahead or arrive early to learn the rules of each sale while signing up for a bidder number.
