Chapter 1

Bzzzzzz! Gary woke up startled. Today was the big day. Gary yelled, "Hi Mom, Bye Mom!" as he ran out of the house. He walked to Professor Oak's lab. It took about fifteen minutes for Gary to get there. As Gary waited for the professor to open the lab, Amy ran up.
"So has Jack gotten here yet?" asked Amy.
"Do you see him?"
"No, I don’t see him," said Amy.
"Well then, that’s my answer," replied Gary.
"Oh, I think I see him coming." said Amy. Jack came running and tripped over Gary’s foot, biting
the dust. While Jack was still spitting dirt out of his mouth, Professor Oak approached.
"Now it is time to choose your Pokemon." said Professor Oak. As they walked in, Jack rammed
Gary into the door. Gary was still on the ground when Professor Oak asked, "All right! Who is going to be first."
"I will be first," yelled Amy! "Oh! I want Oddish".
"Jack it’s your turn, which Pokemon would you like", asked Professor Oak.
"I want a Growlithe," answered Jack with a smerk knowing that was Gary’s favorite Pokemon.
Professor Oak gave Jack the Growlithe.
Gary asked " May I have a Sandshrew?" Professor Oak nodded and Gary received a Sandshrew.
"Now you kids take care of your Pokemon," said Professor Oak.
As Gary was leaving the lab, he yelled, "I challenge you to a pokemon battle!" "I accept," Jack replied. Gary sent out Sandshrew. Jack tossed the pokeball up two times and sent out Growlithe.
"Sandshrew, sand attack," yelled Gary. Sandshrew threw sand all around so no one could see.
Jack ordered Growlithe to use ember. Growlithe used ember.
"Ahhh!" cried Amy. The sand cleared up and Amy was burnt lying on the ground.
"Sandshrew scratched Growlithe, and Growlithe fainted. Jack ran over to Growlithe and took him
to the pokemon center.

Chapter 2

Spearow!!! "Sandshrew scratch." Sandshrew scratched Spearow in the face. "Curl up in a ball to protect yourself", ordered Gary. Spearow’s attack barely damaged the Sandshrew. Gary threw out a pokeball it hit Spearow and shookonce twice and sealed. Spearow was captured.
"Yes Sandshrew, we captured our first pokemon".
"Come on let’s go find more!" They dashed off to Veridian with high hopes.
"Look Viridian City!" Gary ran as fast as he could forgetting Brock’s gym was in Pewter City. At
the pokemon center, Joy was healing his pokemon.
"Excuse me Nurse Joy", said Gary, "where is Brock’s gym?"
"Didn’t you know Brock’s gym is in Pewter City", asked the nurse?
"Oh yeah, I guess I forgot", said Gary, blushing.
"This is Viridian Forest", Gary asked himself? "It’s really easy to tell that it starts here". Gary walked on. Gary and Sandshrew only saw a few Caterpie, nothing much.
"Sandshrew, do you hear that", asked Gary keeping his voice low. They ran up the path and saw a
pokemon battle taking place between a kid and an old man.
"Pikachu".
"I give", said the kid.
"Then pay up kid", said the man.
"Hey you, I challenge you to a pokemon battle", Gary yelled at the man.
"Loser pays 150 p", said the man.
"All right, Sandshrew go", yelled Gary!
"Pikachu go", yelled the man.
"Use your scratch now Sandshrew", called Gary. Sandshrew scratched Pikachu in the stomach.
"Pikachu, thunder shock", ordered the man. Pikachu shot electricity out of its body.
"Sandshrew, fury swipes", ordered Gary. Sandshrew swiped Picachu over and over again.
"Pikachu return, Rattata go", called the man.
"Sandshrew return, Spearow go", yelled Gary.
"Rattata hyperfang".
"Spearow, fly up!" Rattata ran at Spearow. Spearow flew up. On its own, Spearow picked up the Rattata and threw it into a tree.
"Rattata return!", ordered the man. "I guess you win, I’m out of pokemon", said the man. Gary received the money and put the Spearow back in its pokeball. Smell ya later called Gary, happy to have 150 p in his pocket.
"We out did ourselves" Gary crowed! "I’m going to be a pokemon master after all". They set out,
continuing their journey to Pewter City. As they walked further into the forest, Gary heard a rustling
in the bushes.
"Spearow, pick up what’s in the bushes making that noise". Spearow flew and picked up a pokemon.
"Pikachu!!!"
"Spearow return", commanded Gary. "Sandshrew, weaken it with your scratch". Sandshrew scratched the pokemon in the bushes a few times. Gary threw a pokeball at the Pikachu. The pokeball shook once, twice, three times and it sealed. "Yes we caught it", cried Gary!

Chapter 3

Gary made it to Pewter City late that afternoon. In the pokemon center, Gary said "Hello nurse Joy,
could you please tell me where the pokamart is".
"Yes, go down 8th street, it will be on your left."
Gary walked in the pokemart. "Hello, I would like six potions, three revives and five pokaballs".
"Here you go", said the clerk, "you must have been busy catching pokemon."
"Has anyone been here from Pallet town", asked Gary?
"Let me check", said the clerk. A few minutes later he came back from the computer terminal and
said, "no one from Pallet has been here yet".
"Thank you", replied Gary. Gary left and walked up to a gym. Next to the lady at the counter was a basket of rare candy. Gary greedily grabbed five pieces.
"Gary it is your turn to battle Brock", said the receptionist. Gary moved into the gym. Brock was sitting in the chair and he jumped up and announced, "this will be a two on two battle".
Wasting no time, Brock called "Geodude, go". Gary responded, "Pikachu, go".
"Thunder shock", cried Gary!
"Geodude, rock throw", commanded Brock. Pikachu shocked the Geodude. Geodude hurled rocks at the Pikachu.
"Pikachu, thunder", called out Gary. Pikachu knocked out Geodude.
"Onix goooo", shouted Brock!
"Bind", yelled Gary.
"Use agility", yelled Brock. As Onix grabbed at Pikachu, he jumped of the way.
"Thunder now", called Gary. Pikachu let out all of its electricity putting Onix out of the fight. Brock
ran up to Gary.
"Congratulations, here is the Bolder Badge", said Brock. "Have you fought anyone with an Oddish
or Growlithe", asked Brock?
"No, but I have fought someone with a Pikachu weaker than yours, and the guy lost".
"Thanks for the badge", said Gary.

Chapter 4

The next day Gary caught a bus to Mt.Moon. On the bus there was a little girl nagging her dad to get her a Clefairy.
"Excuse me, you’re a pokemon trainer right", asked the man.
"Right", replied Gary.
"Could you please catch a Clefairy for my little girl", asked the man. "Ok", said Gary. Screetch!! The bus stopped latter that day. Gary walked into the six foot tall grass.
"Clefairy, Clefairy", sang Gary, trying to attract one. "Spearow, go find the Clefairy", said Gary impatiently.
"Spearow!!!"
"Clefairy!!" A Clefairy thought Gary, and just then a Clefairy dashed out of the grass. Gary hurled a
pokeball at the Clefairy. It shook once, twice. The pokeball proke open. "Spearow, peck", called Gary. The Spearow slammed his beak into the Clefairy. A pokeball captured the Clefairy, shaking once and then sealing.
"Thank you, mister", said the little girl as Gary handed her the pokemon.
"Take good care of this Clefairy", said Gary.
"Squirtle!!" Water blasted out of a Squirtle’s mouth hitting Spearow. "Spearow return", commanded Gary. "Go Pikachu! Thunder shock"! Electricity came from Pikachu’s body, shocking the Squrtle. The Squrtle leaped and bit Pikachu.
"Thunder", yelled Gary. The Squrtle was captured in a pokeball which sealed immediately. He had
caught a Squrtle. Gary walked into Mt.Moon.
"Water guns get you water guns", called a street merchant.
"Sir why are you selling water guns", asked Gary?
"Pokemon trainers that don’t have water or grass Pokemon, buy water guns to weaken rock
Pokemon" replied the man. Gary walked on and didn’t see any Pokemon!

Chapter 5--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------à

Gary entered Cerulean City wondering where everyone was. "Hey you, why aren’t you at the annual pokethon?" yelled Jenny. "What is that?" Gary said. "It’s when every one in the city goes to the arena and watches or competes to get a pokemon egg."

"The tournament will start in five minutes." Jenny said. "Thanks" replied Gary. He ran all the way to the other side of town in a flash.

Gary stopped at the registration booth and in between gasps for air said, "Sir I would like to enter the pokethon". "That will be five p, your number is seventy-seven, and you will fight five battles". "If you win three out of five, you will fight three more battles". "If you win all those you will get a pokemon egg", said the man. Gary left and sat down on a bench. After twenty minutes Gary was called up. "You will go from arena a to b to c to d to e. ‘Your up ", he informed.

Ding! " Go!" "Geodude go" "Squrtle go, water gun". "Geodude tackle!" Squrtle blew out just enough water to paralyze Geodude. "Geodude return! ‘Go Zubat!" "Squrtle bite." Squrtle bit Zubat and it fainted. "I don’t like losing!" said the boy. "Wheezing, Arbok, Weepinbell, Polywrath go!" "Boy you are disqualified," said an official. Gary finally made it to the top three trainers. "Boy how many pokemon do you have?" Gary thought to himself. Everyone has fainted accept Sandshrew and I have two revive left and three potion. Let’s see I need Picachu and Squrtal. Gary used his revives on Picahu and Squrtal. "Well", said the official impatiently. "I have three pokemon!" "It will be a three on three battle", said the official.

Gary’s opponent was a tough looking man in a red suit. He wasted no time, and started the pokemon battle.

"Charmander go!" yelled Gary’s opponent.

"Squrtle go!" shouted Gray even louder.

"Ember now", commanded the man in the red suit.

"Water gun now!" cried Gary.

Charmander shot out fire at Squrtle. Squrtle blasted water out, over powering Charmander’s flame, Charmander almost fainted.

"Charmander take this", said the man as he threw out a rare candy. Charmander ate the candy, and started to glow bright white. Charmander evolved into Charmeleon!

"Charmeleon fire blast!" commanded Gary.

"Squrtle water gun!" replied the man in the red suit.

Squrtle blew water just in time to meet the blasting fire. The water over powered Charmeleon and knocked Charmeleon across the ring. Squrtle leaped in the air. Charmeleon did a double flip and beat the snot out of Squrtle. With his last ounce of strength Squrtle spit water on Charmeleon’s tail leaving him unconscious. Gary thought, Which pokemon should I use?

"Sandshrew go", barked Gary.

"Wartortle go!" shouted the man in the red suit. The pokemon went from a red light to a pokemon.

"Sandshrew dig!" yelled Gary, thinking he was in the battle of his life. Sandshrew dug a hole in the ground.

"Wartortle, you know what to do", shouted the man. Wartortle filled the hole with water. Sandshrew shot out of the hole and fell to the ground gasping for air.

"Sandshrew return", commanded Gary. "You will pay for that!" screamed Gary out of pure anger.

"Pikachu go, thunder!" yelled Gary at the top of his lungs. Pikachu has seen what had happened to Sandshrew. Pikachu used multiple thunders out of fear. Wartortle scrambled back as it was hit by Pikachu’s thunder shock.

"Return Wartortle", commanded the man in the red suit, "Go Syther".

"Agility and avoid the arms!" commanded Gary. Pikachu went around Syther faster and faster. The Syther followed the Pikachu with its eyes. Pikachu was standing in front of the dizzy wobbling Syther. Pikachu flicked Syther and it fell down passing out cold.

"Congratulations you won", shouted the official. A girl, about Gary’s age, walked up and handed Gary a pokemon egg saying, "Here is the top prize a genuine pokemon egg."

"Do you want to go have lunch together?" asked the girl. "Sure", replied Gary as he put the egg in his bag, "but first I need to heal my pokemon". Walking over to the pokemon center, Gary gave Pikachu a rare candy. "Let’s pick a place to eat at" Gary said. "Ok, that Hitmonchan Pizza looks good", said the girl looking at Gary with admiring eyes.

At the Pokemon center they were waiting for Gary’s pokemon. Gary’s stomach started growling, so he walked to the vending machine to buy a snack. "Gary, don’t eat anything, you will ruin your appetite", said the girl. "I don’t remember what your name is", said Gary. "I didn’t tell you". "So… what is it", asked Gary? "Its Jade", said the girl. "Ok Jade, you sound like my mother", cracked Gary. Gary scanned her over while she wasn’t looking. She had black hair, blue jeans, and a purple short sleeve shirt. If she hadn’t turned around he would have started drooling. The red light went out and nurse Joy came out with a, "they’re all better look". "Thank you", said Gary as he grabbed his pokemon.

Chapter 6-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------à

At Hitmonchan Pizza, Gary and Jade talked as they waited for their waiter. "So are you a pokemon trainer’, asked Gary? "No, but my mom used to be one", replied Jade. "She gave me a pokemon, but it won’t listen to me", said Jade cheerfully. "What would you like to eat", asked a waiter with a fake accent. "We would like a pepperoni pizza, small, two large gulps", said Gary with a fake reply. The waiter left with the order. "Here, take my pokemon", said Jade, "it might obey you better". "What’s your favorite pokemon, so I can catch it for you", asked Gary hoping she had a pokemon license. "I like Pidgey, it’s so cute", said Jade. The waiter returned and set the pizza in front of them. It smelled delicious, and it was soon just crust.

They walked outside and Jade said, "Here is my pokemon". "Jade come with me", said Gary. They ran out of town and skidded to a stop in the tall grass. "Sandshrew, find a Pidgey", yelled Gary. Sandshrew leaped in the grass. After a few minutes they heard a Pidgey. Sandshrew walked out of the grass actually rode out of the grass, on a Pidgey. "Here’s your Pidgey", said Gary as proud as he could. "Thank you, I can’t believe it!" Jade cried. Jade took the pokeball, kissed Gary on the cheek and ran off.

"Well I wonder what is in this pokeball Jade gave me", Gary said to Sandshrew. Sandshrew climbed onto Gary’s shoulder. "Hey you with the Sandshrew", yelled someone off in the distance. Gary whirled around and saw Jack. "So Jack, I see you finally caught up with me". "I know you blew through Pewter and didn’t fight Brock", said Jack. "Oh so you didn’t fight Brock aye Jack", said Gary jumping to a conclusion. "Nope, and neither did you", replied Jack. "Misty won’t let you in without a Bolder Badge, would she", continued Jack. "You’re wrong", snapped Gary. Gary showed Jack his badge. "You will have to go back to Pewter, and I won’t", bragged Gary.

"What are your stakes", asked Gary? "Your Bolder Badge if you lose, and if I lose you get my red official pokemon league hat", said Jack.
