They all left the library-Rachel and Alex headed to the control
room, and Nick headed to the kitchen to get something to eat.
Derek was in the kitchen eating a chicken salad sandwich and
reading the paper. Nick wanted to make amends with Derek for
the good of the House ;so he said,"Hi, Derek. What are you eating?
Is there any left for me?" Derek didn't say a word-he just sat
there eating and reading. "Fine, don't talk to me. I just wanted
to say that I'm sorry for my childish ways." Nick stated.

Derek got up from the table and went over to where Nick
was standing and said, "Can't you ever shut up?! Day after day
I have to put up with your stupid comments and behavior.
You are never going to change. I can't take it anymore."
After he said that he punched Nick in the face and left the House.

In the control room, Alex had a vision that something was wrong
in the kitchen so she and Rachel left there and headed for the
kitchen. When they got there, Nick was sitting on the floor
looking dazed and blood was coming out of his nose. Rachel
walked over to where Nick was sitting and kneeled down.
"Are you okay, Nick, honey? What happened-did Derek do this
to you?" Nick only nodded-he was in terrible pain. As Rachel
was talking to Nick, Alex took out some ice from the freezer
and put it in a towel, and she then handed it to Rachel. As
Rachel handed it to him, she said, "Nick this will make your
nose feel better." She took him to his room, and she stayed
there for a couple of minutes to make sure Nick was alright.
Nick told Rachel what had happened in the kitchen. "Rachel, I
tried to apologize to him for being immature. I felt bad that
I was causing tension in the House. Derek said,'Can't you ever
shut up?! Day after day, I have to put up with your stupid
comments and behavior. You are never going to change your
immature ways. You are driving me crazy.'He hit me after he
said that." Rachel told Nick to get some rest and that she
and Alex would fix things.
