Nick was sitting on the edge of Cassie's bed stroking her hair in a
loving way. He noticed that the peaceful expression on her face had
changed and that she started to thrash in her sleep. "Rache, there's
something wrong with Cassie." He said in an alarmed tone to Rachel who
was standing by the window. She moved away from there and went over to
Cassie's bed. "I think she's having a nightmare, Nick." She said to the
young man. She then felt Cassie's pulse which was racing. Stroking the
young woman's long wavy golden brown hair as she said in a soothing
voice, "It's okay, Cassie, honey. Try and relax, honey."
Cassie's dream
She was still in D.C. in the bathroom throwing up her guts.
The food, which Danielle had been serving her was making her sick.
She couldn't wait for her punishment to be over so that she could
see Vicky and Bridgette again.
The two weeks were finally up and her door was unlocked.
She left her room and walked down the stairs to the parlor
where she found Vicky and Brigette sitting and talking on the
black leather couch. Both ladies looked up when Cassie entered
the room. Bridgette got up from the couch and went over to the
twelve and a half year old and said, "My God, Cassie, you look
awful! You're pale and have bags under your eyes! What has that
monster been doing to you?"
"Bridgette, my stomach hurts, and I've been pucking
everyday since Danielle has been bringing me my food." She told
the older woman whom was like a second mother to her in a
weak voice. Bridgette helped her over to the couch where
she made the young girl lie down. Vicky and Bridgette decided
that since Grant was out of town for a couple of weeks, it would be
safe for the older woman to take Cassie away from D.C. for two weeks.
Rachel was having a hard time getting Cassie to relax. She again
felt her pulse and said to Nick, "Her pulse is very fast. Find some soft
music...maybe that'll help her to calm down." Cassie was moaning in her
sleep and tears were running down her pale cheeks. Rachel wipped
them away. 'What's wrong with you Cassie?' She thought
to herself.
Nick was in his room looking through his CD collection, and he
didn't have any soft music since he was on a hard rock/metal kick.
He would have asked Alex to look through her collection, but she wasn't
back from visiting Tanya. Alex was into R&B anyway, and Nick didn't think
that Cassie was into that kind of music. So he went downstairs to find
Derek to ask him to borrow his CDs. He loved classical music and since
Cassie was a dancer she would like that kind of music. Nick went to Derek's
office and knocked. "Come on in." The precept said.
"Derek, can I look through your CD collection? Casie's sick..won't
wake up and is having awful dreams. Rachel thought that soft music might
calm her down." Nick said to his friend in a worried tone.
Derek looked up from his paper work and with a concerned look on his
face asked,"What do you mean she won't wake up and is having awful
dreams, Nick?"
"I went up to change out of my wet clothes, and I found Cassie on the
floor near Alex's room. I called for Rachel, and she couldn't wake her up.
Cassie had a fever, but it broke...still she wouldn't wake up. Then, she
started to thrash. Rachel said that Cassie was probably having nightmares.
She tried to calm Cassie down, but it didn't work. So can I look through
your CDs, Derek?" He asked his boss. Derek got up from his brown chair
and went over to the shelf and took down his black CD case. He gave it to
Nick. "I've got some more paper work to do, then I'll come up to check on
Cassie." He said as Nick left the room.
