Sloan led Miranda and Angela to the parlor. He sat down in his brown
leather chair and the two young ladies sat down on the brown leather
couch. William Sloan said to Miranda and Angela, "Would you like a cup
of tea?" The both of them replied, "Yes, please."

Sloan pulled the string to signal the buttler to come into the room.
A middle aged man with a slight limp walked into the room and
said, "You, rang,sir." William said to his buttler, "Edward, please bring
some tea and some crumpets. That'll be all." Edward went to get the tea and
crumpets.

"So, what can I do for you?" Sloan asked Miranda and Angela after the
buttler left the room.

Angela said to him, "We had a visitor this afternoon. Grant Harrison...was
looking for Cassie. He tied us up when we wouldn't tell him where she was.
He threatned to kill us; so Miranda told him that Cassie is in Oakdale.
Grant was murdered last year."

Sloan was about to say something when Edward returned carrying a silver
tray with a silver tea pot, flowered tea cups and a plate of crumpets. He set
the tray on the table he was about to pour the tea in the cups when
William said to him, "Edward, I'll take care of that." He left the room.

As he was pouring the tea, he said, "Grant was murdered last year. Did he
tell you what he wanted with Cassandra?"

Taking the cup of tea from Sloan, Miranda replied, "Grant didn't tell us
anything. Just wanted to know where she was." She took a sip of tea and
then said, "Mr.Sloan, Grant was a dangerous man. I don't know what he will
do when he finds out that we lied to him about Cassie's whereabouts."

Sloan told the two young ladies not to worry about it. He escorted them
to the front door. He then went to his office to call Gary Sinclair and
Derek Rayne.

Grant was going on a wild goose chase trying to find Jake McKinnon and
Cassandra Martin. He thought to himself,'Damn you, Miranda and Angela!
For this your sister will pay. How am I going to find where Cassandra is?'
Grant knew that Lila Roberts now Winthrop would tell him where Cassie was.
He got into his rented car and drove to Bay City.
