Kat's Room
Kat was a reading a spell book, which her new friend Ashley had given her
when she heard a knock on her door. She slid the book under her pillow.
"Come in." Kat shouted. The door opened, and her mother entered. She
walked over to her bed and sat down.
"Katherine, I need to ask you a serious question. Have you been doing witch
craft again?" Kat shook her head.
"No mommy." She lied.
"Are you sure? Derek thinks that you might be. This room was Cassie's...did
she let you have it?" Rachel asked her daughter.
"Yes, she did. Wasn't that nice of her?" Kat stated to her mom.
"Uh, when was this? Cassie has classes and fell ill this evening. I don't
think she gave you this room. You were pretty upset with me this afternoon.
I think you moved her stuff, and she had came in here to talk to you...that
made you angry, and you put a spell on her, right?"
"No, mommy I didn't cast any spell." Kat again lied to her mother. Rachel
got up from the bed.
"You are grounded young lady. Cassie is very sick. Nick cares about
her a lot." Rachel stated and then left the room.
Cassie's Room
Derek watched the young woman sleep. Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
He wiped them away.
Cassie's dream
Bay City a year and a half later:
She went to Bridgette's cottage in the woods and noticed that
the door was open. 'That's strange. Brigette never leaves the
door open.' She thought to herself. She walked in the door and didn't
see Brigette in the den where she always waited for Cassie.
"Brigette, I'm here. Where are you?" Cassie shouted. She smelled
something burning in the kitchen and went in there. Brigette's throat
had been slashed, her clothing torn, and her mouth gaged. Cassie stood
there in shock till Vicky came over.
Rachel entered Cassie's room and examined her. "She's still the same. She must be
having awful dreams. I spoke to Kat...think she casted a spell on Cassie. So I
guess you are right, Derek."
"I was hoping that I was wrong. Did she tell you that casted a spell?" He asked.
Rachel shook her head.
"No, she didn't tell me. It was the answers she gave me when I asked her if
Cassie gave her the room. She told me that Cassie let her have the room, which isn't
true since Cassie had classes." Rachel moved her hands slightly. "Let's just hope that Kat decides to break the spell, which she has casted on her. I thought she had learned
her lesson after the old croan took possesion of her." Derek put his arm around her
shoulders.
"Kat has a good heart and doesn't like to see any one hurt or sad so I'm sure she'll
break the spell." 'Hopefully she'll, do the right thing. She has more power than I ever imagined.'
Kat's Room
After her mother had left the room, she took out her spell book from under her pillow and read it again. 'Was Cassie really that sick? Does Nick care about her? Nick's my friend, and I don't want to see him hurt. I don't want to get into trouble either. Can I trust Cassie?' Kat thought as she read. She put down the book and left her room, headed down the stairs to the control room. "Hi, Nick. Is Cassie really sick?"
"Hi, kiddo. Yup. What are you doing up so late. How was your trip?" He asked not so
cheerfully as usual.
"It was fun. Malibu is warmer than here, and the beach was so cool. Sorry about Cassie. Do you like her?" Kat asked looking at him.
"I'm glad that you had fun. It's defininatly a lot warmer there than here. They should
have built the house in LA enough freaks there. I have work to do, Kitty-Kat. Get some
sleep." Nick told her and went back to digging up info on Grant Harrison. Kat left the
room and went into the kitchen for some ice cream. Derek entered the room as she was finishing it.
"I thought you were suspossed to be in bed." Derek stated to her raising an eyebrow.
Kat shrugged her shoulders. "I was hungry. I never had any dinner. What's it do you if i'm in my room or not. You're not my dad." She placed the bowl in the sink and left the room in a huff. "Who does he think he is? He's always treating me like a baby. Well, I'm not. I should cast a spell on him so he can't talk for a couple of days." Kat thought to herself as she got into bed.
