Seven years had passed since Gohan defeated Cell, and Chi-Chi had forced Gohan to go to school in Satan City. Gohan was helping to protect the city as well. One of his classmates, Videl, who was Mr. Satan's daughter, noticed that Gohan looked a lot like the person who had been defeating all the criminals. Gohan, trying to hide his identity so he would be regarded as a normal person, had Buruma make him a special disguise. In the 7 years, Chi-Chi had another child, Goten. Goten looked exactly like Gokou as a child, and acted a lot like him as well. Gohan had quit training after his father died, and while he was at the Capsule Corp. waiting for his disguise to be finished, Vegeta noticed that Gohan had actually lost power since the Cell Game.

Trunks was now, 7, and along with Goten, could go Super Saiya-jin. Vegeta was stunned that they could gain that much power while still so young. One day while Gohan was in the middle of a class, Videl was paged and told that there was a crime taking place, and her assistance was needed. She took off, and Gohan, decided he should help also. So he stood up and excused himself to the bathroom. He caught up with Videl, who had caught the criminals, within a few seconds. However, one of the criminals had shot at Videl, and Gohan got there just in time to stop the bullet from killing her. He chased the criminals down, in doing so he shocked Videl by actually flying. Videl walked over, and asked the Great Saiya-man (this is the name Gohan had given himself), "So Gohan, how did you get out of school?" Gohan simply replied, well I just said that I had to go to the bathroom. He then figured out his mistake, and couldn't believe what he had done. Gohan told Videl why he had worn his costume, and asked that she not tell anyone his secret. She agreed, as long as he went to the next Tenka-Ichi-Budokai with her. Gohan finally agreed, and went straight to Buruma's house. He got another disguise, without a helmet, so that he wouldn't be breaking any of the Budokai's rules.

Vegeta had overheard that he was going to participate in the Budokai, so he took the opportunity and told Gohan that he was going to enter the competition as well. Vegeta had confidence that he could defeat Gohan easily, considering Gohan's lack of training, and how much training he had done for the past 7 years. Gokou's voice suddenly cut in. Gokou told everyone that he was going to go to Earth for the Tenkaichi-Budokai as well. He was going to get Uranai-no-Baba to take him to Earth for one day. Gohan quickly went to tell all the others about the Budokai, and Gokou returning. Gohan was worried that Chi-Chi wouldn't let him participate in the Budokai, and for that matter, take off school to train.

He got home, and told his mother about the prize money, and she was unbelievably enthusiastic about it. She even gave him permission to take off school in order to train. Gohan and Goten began training the next morning, and Goten astonished Gohan, by going Super Saiya-jin. Gohan even said that if he kept slacking off, his little brother and Trunks would get stronger than himself. After training for a short time, Gohan learned that Goten lacked the ability of Bukuu-jitsu, or rather, flying. He was about to teach Goten the technique, when Videl arrived to be trained. He learned that she didn't even have the ability to control her ki. So his first order of business was to teach her that ability. Videl learned how to control her ki quickly, and within the first day, could float slightly off the ground. Goten on the other hand, had mastered flying by the end of the first day.

Gohan told Videl to cut her hair so that it couldn't be used against her when she was fighting in the Budokai. She did so, and within ten days, she was able to fly freely. Trunks had also taken Vegeta totally by surprise in the gravity room when he turned Super Saiya-jin, and then revealed Goten was just a little weaker than himself. Gohan and Goten could finally begin their serious training, now that Videl had left, and no longer needed Gohan's training. Everyone trained for the Budokai, including Gokou in the Annoyo.

The day finally arrived when the Budokai was to be held. Gokou arrived shortly after the Z senshi, and as always, as happy as he could be. Everyone was unbelievably happy to see Gokou again, and Goten even got to meet his father for the first time, even though he was a little timid at first. Everyone went to register, and Trunks and Goten couldn't believe it, but they were forced to participate in the children's section, instead of the adults section.

The preliminaries for the adults were held by the fighters hitting a machine that measured how hard they had hit it. All of the Z senshi shattered Satan's record, and Vegeta even destroyed it. Trunks and Goten were advancing in the children's section without any problems whatsoever. Finally the time came when Goten and Trunks had to fight. It was a good battle, and in the end, Trunks won, however he cheated. First of all, he had said he wouldn't use his left hand, or turn Super Saiya-jin, however, he did both. Trunks got to fight Mr. Satan, so in order not to be humiliated, Satan acted like he meant to lose.

Everyone who had passed the eliminations was preparing to begin the battles. In this time, Goten and Trunks found someone named Mighty Mask who's clothes they could take. They knocked him out and both got into the suit so they could fight the adults. Also, as Gokou and the others were walking out to the ring, they met with two mysterious people who could float, and who knew Gokou's name. Gokou knew that these two were strong, as did Picollo. When the matches were decided, Kullilin vs. Punta was the first. Kullilin easily took care of Punta, even though he was easily 3 times the size of Kullilin.

Next up was Shin (the strange looking person who could fly) vs. Picollo. Picollo walked over to him, and started wondering who he was. All of a sudden he said he surrendered. Gokou asked him why, and Picollo told Gokou the difference between Shin and himself was too great.

The third match was Videl, against someone named Supopobitchi. Supopobitchi had a strange M over his forehead, and had an unusual amount of power. Before Videl's fight began, Picollo went up to Shin (which means God) and asked him, if he was Dai-Kaio-sama. The second, larger man walked up, and told Picollo, "No, he is Kaio-Shin." Picollo couldn't believe this, he said that Kaio-Shin might even be more powerful than Dai-Kaio-sama. The fight began with Videl dominating him, and not allowing him to land any punches. Any normal person would have been knocked out by the time Videl had hit him over and over, however, he wasn't losing any strength. He then began getting shots in on Videl. She was beginning to lose very badly, and in a desperate attempt to win, accidentally broke his neck. To everyone's surprise, he simply turned his head back around, and kept fighting. Supopobitchi almost killed her, however, Yamu, someone who had the strange M on his forehead as well, told Supopobitchi to win, not kill her. Videl was sent to the hospital, and Gokou got Senzu's from Karin-sama to heal Videl.

Kibit and Gohan were now supposed to fight. When the fight began, Kibit told Gohan to go Super Saiya-jin. Gohan was surprised Kibit knew about Super Saiya-jin, however, decided he should do it. By that time, Gohan's friends from school had figured out who the Great Saiya-Man really was. Kaio-shin was telling Gokou and the other senshi that no matter what happened to Gohan, not to interfere. Vegeta said he wouldn't do anything for someone unless he knew the person, so that's when Picollo told everyone who Kaio-shin was. Kaio-shin said that he was pretty sure Supopobitchi and Yamu were going to take Gohan's energy, and again stated, that whatever happened, not to interfere. Gohan went Super Saiya-jin level 2, shocking Kibit and Kaio-shin with the massive amount of power he had. Vegeta however, was unimpressed, saying Gohan was no where near the level he was at when he had fought Cell. When Supopobitchi and Yamu saw all the power Gohan had, they went after him with a strange device. Gohan started to counter attack his enemies, when all of a sudden Kaio-shin stopped him using some sort of ki. The two drained Gohan's energy, and took off flying.

Kaio-shin followed them, and let Kibit heal Gohan. Gokou, Picollo, Vegeta, Kibit, Gohan, and even Videl followed Kaio-shin to their destination. Vegeta was extremely mad that he and Gokou were not going to be able to fight, however Gokou said they would fight later that day. On the way, Kaio-shin told Gokou and the others about what had happened. He told them that the two who had stolen Gohan's energy, were merely pawns, and weak compared to all the other people there. Long ago, when there were 5 Kaio-shins. An evil magician named Bibi-di had created a monster. Each one of those Kaio-shins could kill Freeza with a single shot, however, the monster Bibi-di created, killed 4 of them, very easily. He then said that the monster's name was Buu. Buu's power had put a huge strain on Bibi-di, so he sealed Buu in an egg, which could only be opened by Bibi-di, or one of his descendants, and they had recently learned that Bibi-di had a son, Babi-di.

Videl left, and everyone else was quickly to the place Yamu and Supopobitchi had landed. They gave the energy to Babi-di, and Babi-di then killed Supopobitchi saying he wasn't needed. Yamu flew away fleeing for his life, however, one of Babi-di's henchmen, Pipi, killed him with a ki blast. There was also a large red demon beside Babi-di. Kibit told everyone that his name was Darbura, and was the strongest in the Universe of Evil. Babi-di had noticed the seven senshi a while back, and told Darbura to kill the strongest three, and let the rest follow him inside the ship (which was underground).

Darbura attacked the senshi, and blew Kibit's body into nothing. He then spit on Picollo and Kullilin. Kaio-shin yelled at them to avoid his saliva, however, it was too late. They turned to stone and were frozen in place. Kaio-shin told no one to touch them, for if they shattered, they wouldn't be able to return to their normal form. Kaio-shin told Gokou that if Darbura was killed, then everyone would return to regular. Everyone else went to the ship, even though Kaio-shin told them that it was the worst thing they could possibly do. When they entered, they found out they could not leave without defeating Babi-di, and if they destroyed the ship with a ki blast, the shockwave might awaken Buu. The first enemy to arrive, was Pipi. He was very confident in himself, even though he didn't stand a chance. Vegeta easily killed Pipi, surprising Kaio-shin, and even Babi-di. However, before he died, Pipi told Vegeta that however much energy he lost when he was hurt, would be given to the ship, and then to help Buu reawaken.

On the next level, it was Gokou's turn to fight. His opponent was a huge beast named Yakon. Yakon was supposedly extremely strong. Babi-di was worried that if they battled in the ship, Buu would awaken at half power, so he sent them to the Planet of the Abyss with his magic. No one could see a thing, except for Yakon. Yakon thought this would surely make him the victor, however Gokou still wasn't hurt by him. Then, Gokou went Super Saiya-jin, shining light all over Yakon. Yakon immediately sucked all the light out from the room, turning Gokou back into normal form. Kaio-shin then remembered that Yakon's food was light. Gokou came up with a plan, and simply went Super Saiya-jin level 2. Yakon ate every bit of light, but Gokou kept on powering up, and within seconds, Yakon had exploded.

Darbura, fed up with all of his people being killed, decided to go to the third level himself to fight. While at the Budokai, Satan, and the remaining fighters, decided to have a battle royale including all 5 of them. The fight started, and #18, and Mighty Mask (Goten and Trunks if you had forgotten) took out all but Mr. Satan. #18 and Mighty Mask fought, and after a short time, #18 figured out it was Goten and Trunks. She used a Kienzan, and cut the suit in half, revealing the two children, who were quickly disqualified.

Now, the only two people left were #18 and Mr. Satan. #18 quickly got a headlock on Satan, and made him a proposition. If he gave her 20 million Zeni, she would throw the match. He decided to take the offer, and #18 faked losing. Goten and Trunks met up with Videl, who told them all about what had happened. Goten and Trunks were extremely excited, and wanted to see all these powerful people, so they took off as fast as they could. During that time, Darbura had begun fighting Gohan, and although Gohan wasn't losing, he was doing much worse than he should have been doing. Vegeta got fed up with Gohan's weakness, and said that he was going to finish the battle himself. At that time, Darbura took off to tell Babi-di something. He arrived at Babi-di's chambers and told him that he had found a formidable opponent, with great evil in his heart. Babi-di was extremely joyous that Buu would soon be resurrected.

Vegeta suddenly looked down to the ground, and let out an unbelievable scream. Babi-di said that he was making Vegeta his slave, and unleashing his hidden powers. Vegeta looked up, and now had a large M on his forehead, and looked unusually evil. Kaio-shin knew what had happened, Vegeta had been turned into a Majin. Vegeta now could fight Gokou, and had no intentions of letting this opportunity go by. Babi-di transported them to the Budokai, and once there, Vegeta killed many of the spectators by shooting a large ki blast towards them. Vegeta was still under Babi-di's control, however, he had control over his actions, and chose to kill the people. Vegeta killed another group of people, and told Gokou that if he wouldn't fight him, more innocent people would die. Gokou submitted, and they were transported to a deserted place. Kaio-shin said he was going to take Gohan to fight Babi-di and at least stop Buu from resurrecting at full power. Babi-di let Kaio-shin get all the way to the lowest level, so as not to awaken Buu prematurely.

Gohan and Kaio-shin were quickly confronting Babi-di and Darbura. Vegeta and Gokou fought a standstill battle. Neither was winning, nor losing. Babi-di transported himself, and all the others, including Buu's egg, outside the ship, and seconds later, Buu had gained enough power to resurrect. Babi-di was totally off guard for this and was shocked when he noticed it, however, also, very happy. Majin Vegeta and Gokou stopped fighting for a short time, and Gokou asked why Vegeta had done it. Vegeta replied to Gokou, that he did it because he had noticed Gokou was still a better fighter than he was. He had heard two people say that Yamu and Supopobitchi had gained much more power since the last time they saw them. This lead Vegeta to let himself be possessed. However, an even greater reason, was that he wanted very badly to be like he used to be. He wanted to fight without worrying about others, and be a true cold blooded Saiya-jin warrior once again. He then said that now that he had gone through with it, he felt great.

Buu's sphere was spewing out steam from every pore, and in a last desperate attempt to save the world, Gohan shot a huge ki blast at the sphere. It rolled away, and after a few seconds, burst open. What was inside shocked every person there, absolutely nothing. Babi-di couldn't believe it, but he figured Gohan's ki blast had killed Buu. All of a sudden, Gohan noticed a great ki, and looked up towards the smoke in the sky. It slowly started taking a shape, and after a short time, was done forming. He had turned into what looked like a fat pink alien. No one except Kaio-shin thought it was Buu, in fact, Vegeta was even happy, and said they had gained more than enough power. Buu wanted to fight Darbura, and with a single attack, Darbura was knocked out. When Buu had done that, his ki had increased greatly, and everyone had noticed it, even Gokou and Vegeta. Gokou convinced Vegeta that if he let Buu live, Buu would eventually kill Buruma and Trunks. Vegeta agreed to post pone the fight, however, as they were about to take off, Vegeta knocked out Gokou, took a senzu, and left to fight Buu.

Gohan and Kaio-shin began to run for their lives, and in no time Buu had caught up to them both and knocked them out of the sky. He kept attacking Kaio-shin, and was about to kill him, when all of a sudden, Gohan knocked him out of the way. This barely even stunned Buu, and he then shot a ki blast straight at him. Gohan had no chance to move, and was swept away by it. Eventually the ki blast exploded, and left Gohan stranded in the forest, with great wounds. Goten and Trunks finally came to the place where Babi-di's ship was, and saw the statues of both Kullilin, and Picollo. Trunks walked up to Picollo, and accidentally knocked it over, shattering it. While at Babi-di's ship, a spear suddenly impaled Buu. The attacker this time, was Darbura. Darbura told Babi-di to reseal Buu, because his great power would soon overwhelm Babi-di's. Buu simply pulled the spear out of his stomach, turned Darbura into a cookie, and ate him. At that time, Kullilin returned to normal, and saw Trunks and Goten. He told them about Darbura's spit, and they both freaked out about Picollo, however, when they saw him alive, were totally shocked. He said that he had the ability to regenerate as long as his head wasn't damaged, which explained why he was alive. Buu was about to kill Kaio-shin, when all of a sudden, Babi-di's space ship exploded. Standing there, was Majin Vegeta.

Babi-di told Buu to kill Vegeta right there. Vegeta blew a huge hole in Buu's stomach, which Buu quickly regenerated. However, he was still very mad that Vegeta had hurt him. He let out a huge ki blast that injured Vegeta very badly, and almost killed Babi-di. Buu then started beating Vegeta very badly, and without remorse. Trunks couldn't stand it, and went to help his father. He was followed by Goten, and kicked Buu sending him flying through the air. Picollo had gone over to Babi-di, to kill him. Picollo simply hit him to the ground with a powerful punch. Vegeta got up off the ground, and told Trunks to please take care of his mother. Vegeta took Trunks, gave him a hug, then knocked out Trunks and Goten, and told Picollo to take them as far away as possible. He and Kullilin did as Vegeta had asked, and took the two children as far away as they could. Vegeta told Buu that he was going to kill him with one attack, which was going to blow him into so many pieces, that he couldn't regenerate. This was the first time Vegeta had fought for the good of other people, and he was going to sacrifice himself.

Vegeta said Goodbye to Buruma, Trunks, and even the person he had hated his whole life, Son Gokou. He screamed and out from him burst a ki shock wave of unimaginable power. Even Buruma noticed the blast, and for some reason, had a feeling that it was Vegeta who had done it. Vegeta had been turned to stone by the attack, and simply fell to the ground and shattered. Picollo went back to examine what had happened, and when he arrived, all he saw was a crater. As he looked around further, he saw the body of Babi-di, who was going to die soon. However, the next thing he saw, was the pieces of Buu, coming together. He couldn't believe Vegeta had killed himself in vain, and took off to tell the others what had happened. At the same time, Kaio-shin, who was almost dead, found Gohan in the forest.
