I have been practicing Reiki since 1999 and have had the honor and priviledge of personally being part of many healing success stories utilizing Reiki energy. Here are just a few of them.
*Physical Healing:
Laura had called because she was going into the hospitol to have 1/2 of her liver removed due to a cancerous lesion. I was in the recovery room of the Boston Hospitol where she was having her surgery, she was brought there as soon as her surgery was completed. She was in immense discomfort and had many tubes and I.V.s coming from many parts of her body. I had started distance Reiki in the waiting room. I started hands on Reiki to her operative area as soon as I saw her in the recovery room and continued doing Reiki to her whole body for the next 2 hours. The next morning I went in to do a Reiki treatment on her and she was sitting up with only 1 intravenous tube in, she had decreased her need for pain medication and had already ambulated in the hall. She was doing well and improving better than the doctor's had expected. Reiki speeds the healing of operative procedures, decreases the amount of pain medication needed and speeds the recovery from the procedure thus reducing the need of an extended stay in a hospitol. If you have a planned operative procedure have Reiki done pre and post operatively and you will heal faster and more completely.***
Peg, a wonderful lady who was receiving radiation treatments for thyroid cancer had arranged through her daughter to get some reiki treatments. I went to her home and gave her weekly Reiki treatments and distance treatments in between. She had a relatively pain free course of radiation, maintained a high energy level and was able to swallow and eat all through the radiation course which is very difficult to avoid when receiving thyroid radiation treatments. Her family was very supportive and her loving daughter was an amazing advocate for her Mom.***
Betty had come for a Reiki session because she had a pain in her right upper arm and had been through physical therapy and had been putting heat to the area and 4 months later it still hurt. Springtime is here and she wanted to be able to golf with her golf team soon. She came for a session and I explained what she may experience during a session. I scanned her body and found her to be in good physical health besides the arm pain. As I was channeling Reiki to her arm I could feel movement and a slight shift in the cells beneath my hands. She said she felt much heat in the area and that the pain was getting stronger. I asked her if she can stand the pain and she said yes so I continued to do Reiki in the area and th pain welled up and went away. Reiki will sometimes increase a pain in order to bring it to the surface and go away. Reiki heals from the inside out. It heals for the highest and best. I spoke to her a week later and she said she was pain free and able to swing a golf club. 2 years later she is still golfing and pain free. It is so gratifying to hear of the maladies that can be alleviated with natural treatment. Reiki.***
I personally have been able to heal myself on many occasions by placing my Reiki hands on the affected areas. I was changing the rubber pulley on my vacuum cleaner which had broken while I was vacuuming my carpet, I had an extra so I pulled off the bottom cover and was replacing the broken rubber pulley when I accidently placed my hand on the disc that turns the pulley. I felt as though a million volts had gone through my body because of the pain from the burn. I immediately put my hand under cold running water. I then started doing Reiki to the area and held my hand about 10 inches from the burned area since the heat from the Reiki energy was adding to the pain. I kept applying Reiki though and after each few minutes I would place my Reiki hand closer to the injured area and after 45 minutes of this I was able to rub the area without pain. The area did not blister or fester. I could see a round red area from where the burn had taken place,
but, no pain or swelling was present.I was able to go on with my day as planned. If I had not been Reiki empowered I am sure this burn would have caused me much extended pain, blistering and a rescheduling of activiites for the next day or so. Taking a Reiki class has been the best gift I could have given to myself.***
Chris had called for a Reiki appointment because he was scheduled to have surgery on his knee and had heard that Reiki may be helpful. He came once a week for 4 weeks and by that time he had healed so much that he cancelled his surgery and was able to golf, run and do all the physical activity he wanted without pain to his knee. He also benefited from the calming affects of Reiki which helped him to deal more effectively with stressors in his life. He stated he felt much better with the Reiki treatments so continued to come twice a month just for the stress relief he received from the sessions.***
**Emotional healing:
Ann called for a treatment because she had pain in her liver area. She had the medical tests and they showed nothing wrong. I took an intake on her prior to starting the session, as I do with all my clients, and found that she had much suppressed anger at a family member. As I was doing a session I picked up intuitively that she did not direct her emotions in a healthy way. I did a mental emotional treatment ( 2nd degree ) during the session. I also knew that on an emotional level that suppressed anger many settle in the liver. I shared this with my client and suggested that she do a homework ritual at home and see me the next week for another session. A new lady walked through the door that next week. Her liver was quiet, her face showed much peace and she was so grateful to be feeling so much better.***
Jane had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was undergoing radiation treatments and was receiving Reiki treatments also. I knew her personally and was able to do treatments to her breast area with comfort. I also know that she is a very loving, giving person willing to help others anytime. Now this is a very wonderful quality but when we give to the point that we put ourselves on the back burner,so to speak, this is not being kind to ourselves. We need to take care of ourselves or eventually this will build up in our bodies. I heard it said that people who come down with breast cancer may be breastfeeding the world. This means that they are so willing to give and give, that they are ignoring the very things they need to take care of themselves. I shared this with her and also treated her with 2nd degree Reiki. She is doing well!***
Fred had a head injury from a motorcycle accident. His Mom called me to come and do Reiki sessions on him. He was brain damaged from his concussion and was inappropriate in his reactions, he reacted very angrily. He had much weakness on his right side and could not speak without garbled jargon. The first three sessions I could not even touch him to do a hands on treatment because of his outbursts so I sat in his room and spoke to him as I did a remote treatment on him. That third week he allowed me to start doing hands on treatments on him. I continued doing weekly treaments on him for 6 months. By the end of the six months Fred had improved in many ways. He was able to move both his hands and legs,to walk better,had improved in his ability to speak and was able to feed himself. We were able to help him release much anger from his body by doing 2nd degree mental emotional treatments on him also. He continues to heal from his injuries ,but, because of the Reiki treatments he has regained much that was lost. He is healing spiritually as well as mentally,physically and emotionally. His Mom Kate is an extraordinary woman who is such a great advocate for her son.***
**Nurses as well as parents should all be trained in Reiki since it is an invaluable tool for healing. Parents could save themselves alot of money and trips to the doctors with their children if they are properly trained in how to intervene using Reiki. (Reiki is not a substitute for professional medical care when needed, but it can always be instituted whether or not medical care is indicated.
My patients all receive Reiki and the patients I work with are children who require skilled nursing care in their homes. Abigail is my latest success story. A little girl with Spina Bifida who after 2 years of therapy, including Reiki, is walking, talking without a Tracheostomy, going to school and now no longer needs nursing care at home.
Being a pediatric nurse it never ceases to amaze me how the parents of disabled children are such fabulous advocates for their kids. Keep up the good work always for miracles happen all the time!
