 
I have 2 special needs children. my youngest is 2 he has the following Dx static encepholpathy, sensory integration, & global developmental delays, Heart murmur, expressive & receptive language disorder, & CP. He gets early intervention services through them he recieves Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, & Speech therapy once a week for an hour. He has a wonderful Pediatrician, a pediatric developmental specialist, a pediatric neurologist. He does not talk or walk he does have a walker & was Rx AFOs. When I was pregnant with him I had a gush of fluid & blood we went to the hospital immediatly in fear of lossing him but the Dr. reassured us all was well with our baby & the fluid level was good but no explanation of what happened. I was put on bed rest until delivery. On 4/21/98 I was addmitted to the hospital my labor was induced. a day before I delivered they broke my bag of water. On 4/23/98 around 9 Pm they came in & told me my baby was in distress that his heart rate fell & put me on my left side. On 4/24/98 they came in again and said his heart rate fell really low to 55 so they did a c-section. At 1:42 Am I gave birth to a baby boy 5 lbs. 13oz and 17½ inches long he did not cry right away but he cried in daddys arms. He could not breastfeed & could not suck the brown nipples. He seemed different to me. at 4 months our pediatrican said there was something wrong he could not hold his head up he was floppy at 6 months he did not sit up our pediatrician said he was floppy all over & sent us to see the developmental pediatrician & testing started he had a extensive blood work up, EEG, Video EEG, MRI. He sat up at 18 months.
I have a 15 year old son who has Bipolar, Adhd, Odd, Ts, at 18 months old he was very hyperactive. At 2.5 years old I enrolled him in a specialized preschool up untill he was 5 years old. At 4½ years old he was put on ritalin till he was 6. He raged so bad I had to put him in a Phyicatric Hospital for an evalution he was there for 2 months he was Dx with Adhd, Odd, & Ts He was Rx ritalin & clonidine. At 14 he was admitted again to the hospital for a month he was Dx was Bipolar, Adhd, Odd, & Ts he was given the following Rx Lithobid, Dexedrine, Risperdal, tennx, Celexa & he has been doing fine we have had some mood swings but not like before. His rages have calmed down alot. Discipline is a problem due to his Dx & being a teenager.
