Yugi was your average nerd in school with no friends (apart from Tea)until he solved the Millenium puzzle. He ends up becoming friends with Joey and Tristan after helping them get rid of a bully. There is also another presence in Yugi's body, which comes from the puzzle. This spirit is of a pharaoh who is a master duellist who comes out to help Yugi to defeat his enemies. This pharaoh or Yami as he is later come to be known (mou hitori no yuugi or namonaki pharaoh in Japanese) has no memory of his past so that's something he is always in search of...

Gender: Male
Seto Kaiba is the CEO of one of the biggest business corporations in the world (Kaiba Corp - obviously). He and his little brother Mokuba were adopted from the orphanage by Gozaboro Kaiba and were treated quite badly (which explains his bitter attitide toward the world). Kaiba used to be the best Duel Monsters player in the world until he is defeated by Yugi (on numerous occasions) and sees Yugi as his biggest rival in life. Kaiba isn't as evil as he would initially lead one to believe as he would do anything for his little brother. He also has connections to the ancient past during the times of the pharaoh, however he denies this past and refuses to believe in fate, destiny or reincarnation.
