Winzip 8.0 Beta
WinZip is a zipping and unzipping utility that includes built-in support for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, ZIP, UUencode, XXencode, BinHex, MIME, and Unix-compressed files. ARJ, LZH, and ARC files are supported via external programs. An optional wizard simplifies unzipping and installing software in ZIP files.
New features in version 8.0 include the ability to zip a document and attach it to an email message without leaving Windows Explorer, an enhanced WinZip wizard that allows you to create and update ZIP files and extract and install from MIME and similar encoded files, an enhanced Classic interface that is more like Windows (an Explorer-style toolbar is available), and a new desktop theme and screensaver installer.
Windows Smart Cleaner
Each time you use your computer, unwanted files are created that take up increasingly more space on your hard drive. Smart Cleaner erases files with the following extensions: .bak, .mp,.old, .tmp, . *.*, .gid, .fts, .ftg, .da0, .chk, .$db, and .db$. Smart Cleaner also erases file_id.diz, chklist.*, mscreate.dir, and Windows log files. Version 2.2 adds the ability to send files to the recycle bin. This is a 30-day trial.
TO2000 Internet Utilities
TO2000 Internet Utilities suite includes a search tool, an accelerator, a bookmark organizer, and a connection manager. It is fully automated, self-updating, and more. It may be used for all single or multiple connections (dialup, cable, DSL, LAN, or Windows 95/98/NT/2000).
NetSonic
NetSonic accelerates your Internet browsing by loading previously visited Web pages quickly. NetSonic's SonicCache technology stores your favorite Web pages in its cache. The next time (and all subsequent times) you visit the same Web page, instead of downloading the page over the Internet, the requested Web page is displayed from NetSonic's cache. If a Web page has changed since the last time you visited it, you will hear a beep, and your cursor will change briefly to the NetSonic Jet icon. To display the updated Web page, simply hit your browser's Refresh or Reload button. Version 2.5 now includes integrated Gator features that automatically fill out Web forms, login names, and passwords. This new version also includes other features, such as site exclusion, offline browsing, customized cache locations, and an easier-to-manage user interface.
Winamp
Winamp plays MPEG Layer 2 (MP2) and Layer 3 (MP3) audio streams, and combines extensive functionality with an intuitive interface. It has a full-featured playlist editor and a ten-band graphic equalizer with user-definable presets that can automatically load specific files. It now features Windows Media Technology 4.0 input/output support and the industry-standard Fraunhofer MP3 decoder. This download no longer includes VIS/DSP plug-ins; you can download them separately here. Version 2.60 features a new installation process, enhanced playlist capabilities, improved Mjuice and Audiosoft support, bug fixes, interface improvements, and more.
AudioGrabber
Audiograbber allows you to copy music from a CD-ROM drive digitally rather than using the analog method that first pipes the audio through the sound card. This digital recording process enables you to make high-quality copies of the original music. Audiograbber can be configured to test the quality of its recording. In addition, Audiograbber can automatically normalize the music, delete silence from the start and/or end of tracks, encode straight to MP3 format via internal MP3 or WMA (MS Audio 4.0) codecs, or send an extracted WAV file to an external MP3 encoder. Audiograbber also supports the downloading of CD track listings via CDDB. Audiograbber 1.60 added sound card line-in sampling for recordings of vinyl or radio. It is capable of auto track splitting for LP's and time-scheduling radio recordings. Version 1.61 is multilingual, featuring German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Other languages can be downloaded here. Additionally, Audiograbber shows the track numbers in the track list, increases the length of certain fields, adds a few new topics to the template file, and fixes a few bugs. This free shareware version limits the number of tracks you can record from a CD; the fully functional.
CD-Quick Cache 3.21
Dramatically improve the performance of your CD-, CD-R-, CD-RW-, and DVD-ROM drives with the award-winning CD-Quick Cache. This utility stores frequently read data in RAM or a combination of RAM and hard-drive space to make CD-ROM reads almost instantaneous. It loads as a Virtual Device Driver (VxD), using an intelligent caching algorithm and dynamic read-ahead buffering to ensure top performance. Persistent disk caching lets the cache remember from disc to disc and session to session. The included, tray-based QuickMon utility shows the total reads requested by your CD-ROM application and how many reads CD-Quick Cache has saved. It can also be used to change the configuration settings and enables video clip caching without forcing a reboot. CD-Quick Cache is compatible with virtually all CD-ROM drives that use a 32-bit driver, including Universal Disk Format (UDF), and it supports multiple drives. It automatically uses the hard drive with the most space available for cache storage. If you're tired of waiting on your pokey CD-ROM drive, CD-Quick Cache can add some zip to the task.

NexEncode Studio is a fast MP3 encoder and decoder with plug-in support. The interface can change its look and shape and comes with a skin or shape editor. Features include support for multiple drives, an ID3 tag editor, and support for MP3 and WAV files. This new version fixes alot of bug issues in 3.0.

Install Maker from Clickteam is an installation creator. It gathers files into a small installable file and automatically creates a distributable wizard that walks a user through the entire installation process. |
