| UPDATES OF ALL NEWS |
Our Mid-Year Conference was held the last weekend in January at the Holiday Inn Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. It was very informative and a lot of great information was obtained by all. We had our Legionette Fashion Show at Post 38 in Security and the tips that were given to the models, were donated back to the Auxiliary. A lot of fun was had by all in attendance. We were honored to have two guest with us during this time. Our Northwestern National Vice President, Lyla Semenko and the National Vice Commander Dale "Tiny" Salmen. Both said they had lots of fun and will not soon forget their trip to Colorado. At the awards banquet held on Saturday night at the Conference, the Legion's own OBSERVER received an award. Way to go. Now we can all say that we belong to a family of award winning publications. What an honor.
The next upcoming events will be the Awareness Assembly in Washington, DC. The schedule they have planned, looks to be very busy, informative, educational and fun filled. I will be attending Arlington and also a luncheon to meet with the Colorado Legislatures. Looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity.
After Washington, the next place of travel will be to Las Vegas, NV to the National Leadership Informational Conference. This will be held in Las Vegas at the Riveria Hotel and Casino on April 5-7. If you have not made your plans to attend, I encourage you to do so. National has changed the format for this conference and it proves to be very educational, informative along with fun. I know I certainly am looking forward to attending.
Now for some sad news: At the Mid-Year Conference, Roberta Morrow presented her letter of resignation as the Department Secretary/Treasurer. We regretfully accepted it. We are now looking for someone to take over the duties at Headquarters. Please see the ad below:
