She is tired of hurting innocent species just because they have slugs in their brains. But one evening, after a strong battle, a Human-Controller follows her home and that is when the trouble starts... IN THE MIDDLE Cassie falls into the river and is dragged out by the Human-Controller, Karen. From then on, trouble starts as they are edgy camping in a cave unsure when a leopard my strike... CLIMAX Cassie soons learns to trust Karen and also learns that not all Yeerks are bad and that Karen (Yeerk name : Aftran)only chose her host body as the little girl so she would not fight. From then on, confusing things happen and later Cassie ends up morphing into a catapillar cocoon to prove she trusts Aftran. This is one of the suprising Animorphs books ever and why is it called The Departure I wonder? Jake, at the end, also tells parts of the story. Cool hey? But, Cassie doesn't do the morphing til the end and when she does she changes into a different species. Very well ended though, I must admit.
