When did PERVERSERAPH first get together and what was the inspiration for starting the band?
Well we didn't get together as an actual band until 1996, But I was inspired to do PERVERSERAPH in 1992 towards the end of my old band NECROTION. I wanted to do something a lot sicker and more aggressive, and play shit that we wanted to here! And set no limits as to how far we can push it! That is what inspires us.

Whom does the band consist of? Has this been the steady lineup since your inception?
PERVERSERAPH is: Shaitan-Guitar/Vocals, Frank Deathunder-Drums, Alex Bouks-Bass..... The line-up has changed slightly, but for the better, and still the creative core remains........

Has the band gotten to play out at all yet? If so how has the reaction to your performances been?
We've played some local gigs and parties and shit, nothing big, but the reactions were always good......

Describe the current Black Metal scene out there in Philly. Tell us about a few of the bands from that area.
In my view I think the scene around here is kinda lame.......There are some good bands in this city..... But there is not many places to play gigs, and the local Press and Radio, only deal with Alternative, (c)Rap, and other bullshit. But soon we will take the scene back, it's only a matter of time until the whole world knows about the bands in this area!

You've also played out with fellow Philadelphia Black Metallers BLOOD STORM. How long have you known Mezzadurus? Will you be playing more shows with them in the days to come?
We've known each other for quite some time....... No, I am no longer involved with them....... PERVERSERAPH is my main concern I need to devote all my energies to it......

Are there a lot of fanzines in Philly to keep up with things in the underground? What zines have you been covered in up to now?
As far as I know, there are no Metal fanzines at all, that come from Philly. Like I said when it come to the press this scene fuckin sucks!

Are the Black and Death Metal scenes in Philly generally more united than they are here in NY? What's your take on the infighting that goes on between the two camps?
In this scene it's more like, "who's back can I stab next....." Black or Death Metal makes no difference....... People in Philly are very angry and most people hate everyone else......

Tell us of any material you have out now as well as any you plan to release soon.
We have the "Savage Messiah" MCD on Gothic Records, four songs of Unholy Chaos and Destruction....... We will also do "Chemical Warfare" on GATEWAY TO HELL VOL. 2 SLAYER tribute on Dwell Records and VENOM's Genocide also for Dwell...... At this time we are working on new stuff for are forth coming (still untitled) full length LP......

Which bands would you most like to perform with? Do you feel it's possible you'll get to someday?
BLACK SABBATH..... But I don't see that happening......... It don't really matter as long they are Extreme Metal. We just want to play our music live......
