How did the idea for releasing Cats of Ulthar first come about? What is the inspiration of the name?
When I decided to do Cats Of Ulthar, I was helping find a cat a home. A beautiful black cat named Loki which I found scratching at my door. It proved to be quite a task. And I guess that is where my inspiration came from. I had many cats and I adore them. The name was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's story of course.
When was the first issue of Cats of Ulthar unleashed? What did it feature inside?
LOL, the first issue contains much of what you see at the website. I write a little about black cats, my exprience with Loki, some poems, a funny story Jeda found for me on the internet, and I have contributors. It's free to anyone who wants one, all I ask it $1. to cover postage. I still have to take it to print but it is ready.
What can we expect to find in Cats of Ulthar? In what ways is the zine similar and different from ENDEMONIADA?
Oh, it's a lot different to Endemoniada, Endemoniada is about women and musik, while Cats of Ulthar is for my love of cats and it's much shorter than Endemoniada, ha, ha.
Is there anyone working on the zine with you or is it all yours? If there are other writers helping you out what input do they usually provide?
I accept contributions from other cat lovers. Yes, but I plan on doing only six issues and then adding it all to the Cats Of Ulthar website: http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/CATSOFULTHAR
What is your favorite material that has been published in the zine this far?
Do you mean in Cats of Ulthar? It has only started so I don't know, teehee. In Endemoniada, my favorite, well, that's hard to say, I luv everything I do. I enjoy best feeling the completed material in my hands. It just gives me a strange satisfaction. And the covers Satana does just get better and better. They really compliment the zine.
How's circulation doing for the zine? Has it generated a lot of positive feedback? Any that stands out the most?
Like I said, it just started but the website is doing fairly well, and everyone's invited to partake in it. Many sites that write about cats are sometimes meant for normal people, now we have one for ourselves. And Cats of Ulthar is for all of us!
What other projects are you involved in besides Endemoniada and Catsof Ulthar?
Well, I write stories for Xastur's Erotika X. I'm building a poetry website called StellaLuna (no relation to the toy bat, ha, ha) along with my sister. It will be fun for those who love to contribute poetry to the zine to have somewhere to submit and discuss them.
Any zines you've discovered since I last interviewed you that you would recommend to people?
Ah, yes, I luv SATAN'S SWEET SLAVERY! Everyone must check it out! Oh, and check out the hot magazine Skin Two (warning, it's about $20) and the new Savage has Gen of Genitorturers.
In what ways has the scene improved in the last few years?
Hmm, I don't see the improvement, not in NY anyway. Maybe the fact that barriers have broken concerning women in the scene and the Metal/Goth/Satanism have come a lot closer in sharing its ideal. But the shows need stronger support. And lets not look down on the new metal heads, we all started somewhere.
What would you most like to accomplish with Cats of Ulthar?
I just want to be able to satisfy my love of cats. It's a form of expression. I don't expect it to be a major zine, it's kinda like a side project.
Anything you want to close the interview with?
Thanx a million for all your support! Tonz of hot kisses to all my readers. Make sure you explore Endemoniada online, at http://www.angelfire.com/ny3/ENDEMONIADA and
