Lost In Aegypt
Bleak the nile shone like ebon embers
flickering, flowing dark and fierce
as the moon glided through the heavens
in her silvery chariot.
Upon the waves the boat was gentled
to and fro and up and down
while in the distant, purple gloaming
danced the lamplight of the town.
Aegypt, there in all her splendor,
was a scented night of lotus bouquet
hovering like an ancient phoenix
fragrant and fiery from the day.
A zephyr soft began to sing,
carrying her scent on fleetest wing
o'er desert mound it gently stings
unto the valley of the kings.
And in the rapture of the moment
nothing else on Earth prevails
nor turn my glad eye from your tender touch,
your amber eye nor your wanting smile.
There you were in moonbeams shining,
wet and glistening in the pale.
Naked, free and at last unbridled
you let desire show through your veil.
Through the sway you catwalk to me
Through the bright, darkness you softly come.
You moved in such fluid movements
I was mesmerized by your ballet.
Then you sandstone skin wrapped 'round me.
Your blazing lips press onto my eye.
I was then but a thing of needing -
a slave unto the beast inside.
Lost in a windsong's fiery passion,
lost in love's heated embrace,
lost to Aegypt and my longing
lost to the look upon your face.
