| Legends in the wind dying petals on the ground trod down by the fans who forgot they were around Singers fade away though once they were are friends Why do we throw away our legends in the wind. The airwaves turned against them and too soon the fans forget how each of them had touched us Jones, Wells and Wynette The songs they sang are with us still as strong as in those days the saddest part though my friend is that they've still songs to sing. Legends in the wind like petals on the ground trod on by the fans who've forgot they were around. Once they were our saviours, our strength and valued friends But that was when they weren't just legends in the wind. |
