| Calliope Music |
 |
When I hear a round of calliope music,
suddenly my heart will take wing and fly.
But, I cannot say if it's love or it's duty.
Why I whimsicly watch as the world passes by.
Teardrops and raindrops and unicorns running,
where dewdrops and gumdrops speckle the sky.
Roses and peaches and maniacal laughter.
The sun and the moon are the universes' eyes.
Kittens at fireside all comfy and cosy,
somehow has wrought these tears from my eyes.
Children and flowers and everything rosy.
Are lost in the confusion of societies pride.
Oft' times I wander as I gaze in the mirror,
at the motley reflections of my lustful side.
I see I'm deceiving myself all too clearly.
A hermaphrodic soul with nowhere left to hide.
Somewhere there's a closet where voices are whispering,
begging for freedom in both shame and pride.
The demons without straight-faced are all laughing,
feeding the masses the truths fed on lies.
So come on along since you've found time to listen,
discovering there may be some truth in your lies.
Please catch a boat by rainbows christened
and sail with me 'cross the mandarin skies.
I'll play you a round of calliope music.
And sing curious songs if you'll not ask me why.
What you will be or may see here my beauty,
is entirely up to you to decide.
Just sit back or lay back and float with the rhythm.
Spreading your wings across the great divide.
Go and race unicorns (you can run with them).
Look through the kaleidescope of your mind's eye
Remember the miracle of a mother feeding
her tiny babe suckling close at her side.
And in my song you will find there is meaning.
So follow my lead and observe the times.
And play me a round of calliope music,
so that my heart's pains may soon subside.
I'll be devoted to love and my duties,
whimsicly watching the world passing by.
Tearfully watch as the world slowly dies. |
