| An Autumn Dusk At Play |
 |
Tender, soft and warm the night enfolds me.
Rapture in the velvet, starlit night.
Cool and fresh and free the breeze caresses,
In a wild and free, ethereal embrace.
Like sand slowly slipping through my fingers,
Dusting light the moment we call now
With some long mislain happening
Of me and him and an autumn dusk at play.
The strong empowered trees are gaily dancing
Passionately engaged in nature's song.
The autumn leaves twirl madly about the dancers
Like bright confetti thrown amongst the crowd.
And though these moments are of yesteryear
They're as bright and fresh as yesterday's.
The movement of the moments so delightful...
Me and him and an autumn dusk at play.
The late wildflowers sway and bow their heads,
Entranced in the throws of all the joy.
The emerald grass' mesmerizing movements
Rustling still like satin in my mind.
From my memory oh how I still recall it.
Just as if it were but yesterday.
Though many years have come and gone between us;
Me and him and an autumn dusk at play.
That autumn in my mind is locked forever,
Just as is the smiles that graced his face.
He, haloed by his golden hair, there standing
Me and him and an autumn dusk at play.
In the magick of the moment we're still lovers;
Caught eternally in love's enduring grace.
No moment brief or long can stand between us;
Me and him and an autumn dusk at play.
Forever more I'll sigh in soft contentment
Of me and him and an autumn dusk at play. |
