| ____________________________________________________________ A WORD ABOUT RESCUE. What is a rescue animal? When a person takes an unwanted animal, an abandoned animal, or an animal in danger with the intention of finding it a good-quality home, and spends their own money to treat and spay/neuter the animal, then that animal is a rescue animal and the person is a rescuer. Why must all rescue dogs, cats, and rabbits be spayed or neutered? There is a large companion animal overpopulation in the United States. There are millions of animals killed every year in animal shelters, because there aren't enough homes for them all. There are a limited number of homes available and even if somebody finds good homes for all the kittens that still means that |
