Goku & Broli only became a Super Saiyan, because they were born 1,000th day. Every 1,000 years a new Super Saiyan is born. Goku & Broli was born at same day, thats why they both are Super Saiyan.
Vegeta is only a Super Saiyan because he is a Prince. ( Royal Family )
Gohan, Trunks, & Goten are Super Saiyan, because they are son of a Super Saiyan.
Vegeta never transformed to Super Saiyan 3, he actually cheated. Bulma made this machine that had this beam to make Vegeta transfrom to a Oozaru, but then he learned how to control it and turn into Super Saiyan 4.
Goku turned into Golden Oozaru, becaused he used the Earth instead of the Moon to transform.
