Chavo Guerrero Jr. going one-on-one with Taka Michinoku kicked off another edition of HEAT! Taka attempted to ground the high-flying Guerrero with an armbar in the early portion of the match before he was grounded with a Guerrero powerbowb. Taka fought back with a sidekick, and soon executed a spinning heel kick from off the top rope. But when Taka went for a superplex, Guerrero reversed it into a devastating powerbomb-type maneuver to win the match!
After the match, special guest host Tazz emerged from his private room, and even though Tazz didn't look too happy, it didn't stop Al Snow from singing "Hey la, hey la, Tazz is back" over the air!
Hugh Morrus attempted to make it 2-for-2 for the Alliance, but had a tough task ahead of him in the form of Hardcore Holly. Morrus was impressive in standing toe to toe with Holly, pound-for-pound one of the toughest Federation Superstars. (During the match, Michael Cole reported that Tazz was causing disruption in the WWF New York merchandise area.) In the ring, Holly nailed a superplex from the top rope, which knocked the wind out of both men. Soon after, Holly hit a pretty dropkick, but was unable to pin Morrus. Although Morrus proved very stubborn, he did not get up after a Holly Alabama Slammer.
At the merchandise area, Tazz stood behind the counter, and told customers that whatever they wanted (outside of Stone Cold Steve Austin or Tazz merchandise) was not available.
When each refused to buy Stone Cold or Tazz paraphernalia, Tazz told them to hit the bricks!
Shawn Stasiak (with Stacy Keibler in his corner) made another attempt to impress the Alliance when he took on "The One" Billy Gunn. Stasiak was very impressive throughout, until instead of going for the cover when he apparently had the match won, he went to the top and missed a flying. After Stasiak narrowly escaped defeat, he went to the outside, where Stacy whispered something in hie ear. Then Stacy climbed on the apron in an attempt to distract Gunn. But when Stasiak when to attack Gunn, The One moved, and Stasiak hit Stacy instead! Gunn then finished Stasiak with the Fame-Ass-Er to win the match.
Tazz then joined Michael Cole and Al Snow for a live interview, and he still didn't look too happy. First, Tazz confirmed that he'd be ringside with Cole for the live SmackDown! on Tuesday, and then passed a comment to Snow that accused him of saying he could beat him up. Tazz reinforced to Snow that the only reason Snow was now the co-host of HEAT is because Tazz joined the Alliance, and then promised that when the Alliance fully took over the Federation, Snow would not be hosting HEAT anymore. Tazz then added that it was convenient that "WWF Tough Enough" only showed Snow training the prospective superstars, and not Tazz beating them up.
Snow countered that Tazz wasn't on the show as often as he was not because Tazz was in the Alliance, but because of Tazz's hectic schedule, and added that just because Al Snow doesn't get miserable, it doesn't mean he's not hardcore. Fed up, Snow got up and left. But when Tazz told him to walk away like the b**** that he was, Snow came back and got nose to nose with Tazz. The two men got into a shouting match and had to be separated!
Back on the air, Snow warned Tazz that at the right time and place, he would kick Tazz's ass for the things he told him during the interview. Back in the ring, former Federation European Champion Matt Hardy was set for action against Alliance member Chuck Palumbo.
Hardy neutralized Palumbo's size and strength advantage until Palumbo nailed a belly-to-belly suplex. Soon, Hardy hit a neckbreaker and then a leg drop from the second rope. Though two Twist of Fate attempts were refuted, Hardy eventually rolled up Palumbo for the win! But after the match, Palumbo attacked Hardy and knocked him out with a superkick.
