Eight and a half months after his injury at Starrcade, Bret Hart took the mic on Thunder to tell his side of the story. Taunting Goldberg to the ring, Hart was in no condition to face off against the monster, who kept his cool even when face to face with The Hitman. But when all was said and done, it was Hart who got the last laugh as Big Poppa Pump dropped in for a visit--and dropped Goldberg unconscious to the mat.

With a tape recorder rolling, Smooth arrived at the Power Plant with the Natural Born Thrillers, who had returned for a "reunion" with Paul Orndorff.

No. 1 Contender's Match
Kwee Wee with Paisley d. Lieutenant Loco
Loco came to the ring, minus the rest of the MIA, ready to take on the eccentric wardrobe designer in the No. 1 contender's match for the WCW 100 Kilogram or Less Title. "Prime Time" Elix Skipper, with the captive Major Gunns, walked down the aisle and joined the ringside announcers. Loco stayed on top of his opponent early; but Kwee Wee, growing more angry and violent, eventually took over the bout. Gunns cheered on the Lieutenant as he and Kwee Wee exchanged near falls inside. Paisley knocked Loco off the top rope, allowing Kwee Wee to use a spike DDT from the turnbuckle for the win. Gunns ran into the ring and jumped Paisley until Tygress joined in, making it a two-on-one attack. When the MIA charged the ring, Skipper got away with the Major just in time.

A clip from earlier in the day showed Bret "The Hitman" Hart arriving at the arena.

Backstage, Goldberg walked the back hallway.

The Natural Born Thrillers stormed into the Power Plant and attacked Mike Graham and a couple of trainees. They invaded Orndorff's office, where a verbal confrontation ensued. When it got physical, Paul fought valiantly to defend himself, but was outnumbered and beaten down until Turner security intervened.

Mike Tenay Interview: David Flair and Stacy Kiebler
David said he wasn't sure if his father would attend his wedding Monday night. Tenay got tough, asking Stacy why she seemingly cared more about the ring than helping David when he was attacked during his proposal. Mike continued to grill the couple with personal questions, asking David if he'd be able to get along with his father, provided the Nature Boy does attend. Finally fed up with Tenay's inquisition, Kiebler and Flair abruptly called off the rest of the interview and walked out.

Backstage, Bill Goldberg stalked the hallways, searching for Bret Hart.

Countout - 3 Count d. Kronic
3 Count arrived with baseball bats, saying they came to fight, not sing and dance. Evan called out Kronic, and the match was on. Kronic pulverized the singing trio, quickly sending them to the floor. 3 Count used some swift double team moves, but Kronic's power was still too much. The Harris Brothers came to ringside and drew Adams and Clark outside, where they were counted out. 3 Count danced after the bell; Tank Abbott paid a visit and laid all three out with the KO punch.

Backstage, WCW security surrounded Bret Hart's dressing room.

Mean Gene Interview: Crowbar
Crowbar said he was happy for Daffney. He told Shane Douglas he'd pay for trying to end his career a week earlier.

Lava Lamp Lounge: Pamela Paulshock
Dressed in a '70s leisure suit, Mike Awesome interviewed Paulshock; he subsequently struck out with a series of lame pickup lines. Jeff Jarrett told Awesome he was living in the past and attacked, sending him over the couch on the set. When The Chosen One threatened to hit Pamela with the guitar, Mean Gene stood in the way. Awesome eventually struck the six-stringer over the head.

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas with Torrie Wilson d. Crowbar
Douglas talked smack on the mic before the match. Crowbar immediately went on the offense, seeking revenge for Douglas' attack on him nine days prior. Crowbar launched The Franchise into the announcer's table and the guardrail, before Shane reversed a whip into the steel steps and sent Crowbar writhing in pain. After a series of near-fall attempts, Crowbar almost achieved victory; but Torrie slid in to interfere, sending Shane to victory. After the match, Daffney attacked Wilson outside and into the ring. Ozzy came in as well, but Douglas dropped him. Madusa also made an appearance and floored not only Torrie, but The Franchise as well.

Backstage, Goldberg destroyed WCW security and entered Bret Hart's dressing room, only to find it empty.

Interview: Bret Hart
Hart proclaimed himself the greatest wrestler in the history of the business. The Hitman named all the men he's defeated in the WWF and WCW, including Bill Goldberg. He showed footage of Goldberg's kick to his head, saying, as a result of the blow, he's lost 10 percent of his brain function. Goldberg had heard enough; he came to the ring. Bret taunted him, asking him if he was there to finish the job. Bill said he sometimes wished he'd gotten hurt instead of Hart. Hart charged that Goldberg doesn't care about him; he only cares how many Goldberg dolls and shirts are sold. As Goldberg was leaving, Hart talked more trash and prompted the former Falcon to return. Scott Steiner jumped Goldberg from behind and applied the Steiner Recliner as Hart told the world, "the idiot fell right into the trap."

Outside, Scott Steiner got into his car and left the arena.

WCW Tag Team Title Match
The Filthy Animals with Tygress d. The Harris Brothers
Mysterio and The Juice were flying early, but The Harris Brothers used their strength to stop the champions, tossing them around the ring. Even with Disqo and Konnan at the broadcast table, The Harris Boys, as they dissected Juvi and Rey, were not intimidated. The Juice made the hot tag to Rey who, along with Tygress, delivered a double BroncoBuster to Ron Harris. Kronic came down and threw Rey into the ring on top of Don for the pinfall victory.

Shown visiting with family and friends after Monday Nitro, Booker T told Kevin Nash to get ready for Fall Brawl.

No Holds Barred Match
Sting d. Vampiro
ICP joined Tony Schiavone for ringside commentary, telling him he's now employed by JCW. Sting and Vampiro went at it strong, quickly taking the fight outside the ring and into the crowd. Sting, or "Onion Ring" as ICP dubbed him, destroyed his mortal enemy with various ringside weapons. Shaggy and J interfered while commentating; the two said it was perfectly legal in the JCW. The Stinger used a steel chair on his opponent's head before climbing back into the ring. Vamp applied a leglock submission hold, but let go to send Sting to the mat with a devastating kick to the chin. Vamp went for the Nail in the Coffin, but The Stinger floated over and slammed down with a Scorpion Deathdrop for the win. The Dark Carnival attacked Sting after the match, but Sting broke away and fought Muta up the ramp. Goldberg came out and chased off the rest of the Dark Carnival. Grabbing the mic, Goldberg called Hart to the ring; Lance Storm came on the screen, telling big Bill he and Skipper would come down and kick his butt.

Handicapped Match
Goldberg d. Lance Storm and "Prime Time" Elix Skipper with Major Gunns
Storm demanded the crowd rise for the Canadian national anthem, but Goldberg cut it short and ordered his opponents into the ring. Skipper did a flip off the top rope, but was immediately speared upon landing. When Storm tried to escape up the ramp, General Rection cut him off and sent him back into the squared circle for the waiting spear and Jackhammer.
