A week's worth of hype finally came to a head at Monday Nitro in Dallas--the site of WarGames 2000, a triple tier cage match with the WCW Title on the line. Throughout the evening, Vince Russo saw his plan deteriorate as the opposing team won its respective qualifying matches to get to the main event. On top of that, Russo had to deal with an irate Kevin Nash, who took offense to his title being up for grabs. The match, aptly titled "Russo's Revenge," ended with Bret Hart costing Goldberg the gold and Kevin Nash walking away still the champion.

Backstage, Russo, Steiner, Jarrett and Big Sexy arrived at the arena.

WCW World Tag Team Title Match
Rey Mysterio, Jr. and The Juice with The Filthy Animals d. ICP
Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J attacked the champions as Konnan spoke The Filthy Animal gospel. The Juice and Rey came back and went to the air, diving over the top rope onto the ICP members. The Animals continued to show their experience against the Carnival until Juvi was sent to the outside, allowing ICP to double team Mysterio. In the end, the champions retained their titles after Rey went low with a legdrop from the top for the win.

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Lance Storm
Storm told Pamela that Major Gunns needed discipline, as the captured bombshell ran on a treadmill in the background.

Interview: Vince Russo
The cage was lowered and Russo entered the ring as the NBT stood on the outside, ostensibly guarding the cage door. Vinnie Ru immediately tore into the Dallas Cowboys, riling up the Texas crowd. He spoke of the teams--his Team Russo team of himself, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash against the WCW Team of Booker T, The Cat, Sting and Goldberg--facing off later in the WarGames match. With the WCW Title up for grabs to the first person to exit the cage with the belt, Russo put Booker, Sting, Goldberg and The Cat in qualifying matches to earn their WarGames spots. After guaranteeing he would be the new champion at night's end, Russo was joined by Big Sexy, who said he wasn't putting his belt on the line. When Vince got mouthy, Nash grabbed him by the throat, but was interrupted by Sting, who came from underneath the ring apron. Nash gave Russo the bird and told Sting to help himself. The Stinger told the boss it was ShowTime and chased Russo, who quickly scurried up the ladder leading to the second level. Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett joined in, before Booker T and The Cat came out to fight off the Thrillers and help Sting. During the ruckus, Russo climbed down the outside of the cage and backed up the aisle. As Goldberg came to the stage, however, Vince ran fast down the side of the ramp and to the back.

Backstage, Jarrett and Steiner screamed at Russo for angering Big Sexy.

Earlier in the day, Scott Hudson and The Nitro Girls shaved Jeremy Borash's after he'd lost a ratings bet to Vince Russo.

The Harris Boys came to the ringside table and demanded a clip be shown. In the video, the brothers arrive at a bar and destroy Kronic as they play pool.

Backstage, Shane Douglas told Russo he wanted to go against Goldberg in his qualifying match. The Franchise requested the Thrillers be by his side, but Torrie refused, saying they screw everything up. After Douglas left the room, Russo told NBT to watch Shane's back.

Qualifying Match
Sting d. Vampiro and The Great Muta
In his WarGames qualifying match, Sting was pitted against, not only The Great Muta, but also his mortal enemy, Vampiro. The Dark Carnival doubled up on The Stinger, but Vamp caught the green mist in his eyes from Muta by mistake, which set Sting up for the Scorpion Deathdrop win.

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Team Canada
Storm and Skipper continued to torture Major Gunns in the weight room, telling her she had to push it to the limit if she wanted to be Canadian.

Backstage, Jarrett and Steiner tried to calm Kevin Nash down, but Big Sexy hinted he might compete for the other team.

Qualifying Match
Booker T d. Stevie Ray
Stevie Ray came out and said he was being forced to fight against his brother. Booker spoke on the mic, but Ray attacked him from behind to start the match. Booker hit an axe kick, but as he jumped up for the Harlem sidekick, Stevie caught him and slammed him to the canvas. Finally, Booker got the win with the BookEnd. After the bell, Ray hugged his brother and warned him to watch his back in the main event.

Backstage, Kronic attacked The Jung Dragons when they couldn't understand what Adams and Clark were asking them.

3 Count stood in the ring ready to perform, but Kronic hit the scene, delivering a triple High Time. Adams called out Ron and Don Harris, but The Chosen One came out instead. Jarrett called out The Cat, announcing he would have to face both members of Kronic.

Qualifying Match
Kronic d. The Cat with Miss Jones
Instead of wrestling each other, Miller proposed the three of them beat up Jarrett at ringside. Kronic agreed, but the commissioner rolled Adams up for a two-count instead, trying to gain a quick win. Miss Jones got a bit of revenge on Jarrett when she slapped him across the face. Inside, Adams and Clark overpowered The Cat, taking the easy win and securing a slot for themselves in the main event.

Backstage, Scott Steiner yelled at Russo, reminding him he just put Kronic in the match.

Qualifying Match
Bill Goldberg d. "The Franchise" Shane Douglas
Torrie Wilson berated the Dallas crowd, telling The Franchise to get the fight over with quick so they could get out of town. The fans were totally behind Goldberg, as he entered the ring and immediately displayed his power against Shane, repeatedly shoving him hard to the canvas. Goldberg missed a forearm smash on the outside, slamming his bad arm into the ringpost. The Franchise took advantage of the situation by going after Goldber's arm, but was taken down again by his incensed opponent. The Natural Born Thrillers hit the ring, but Goldberg annihilated all of them, before spearing and Jackhammering Douglas into oblivion.

Backstage, Russo apologized to Kevin Nash, asking Big Sexy what he could do to make it up to him. Nash said he would make sure Russo didn't get the WCW Title.

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Team Canada
As Gunns swam laps in a pool, Storm told her she only had 100 more to go to be Canadian. When Pamela threatened to call security, she was thrown into the pool as well. The MIA attacked and threw Storm and Prime Time into the pool, where a brawl ensued.

Backstage, Russo told the Natural Born Thrillers they had one more chance to prove their worth and he booked them all in a handicapped match against Big Vito.

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Arn Anderson
Arn Anderson told Pamela and the world Ric Flair would be in attendance at Nitro next week for the David Flair and Ms. Hancock wedding.

The Natural Born Thrillers d. Big Vito
Mike Sanders came to the stage, riling up Vito and the Dallas crowd. Big Vito said he was ready for all of them and the fight was on. Vito got the jump with his stick, but soon the odds won out as the Thrillers mugged the Italian street fighter. After the group beat Vito senseless, the Thrillers ended the bout with a Seanton Bomb.

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Sting, Kronic and Booker T
Booker said he was going to take back what was rightfully his; Kronic said they would all work as a team. Sting reminded the boss it was ShowTime.

WarGames 2000 - WCW Title Match
Kevin Nash with Vince Russo, Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett d. Booker T, Sting, Goldberg and Kronic
The men entered the ring at two-minute intervals, with Sting and Jeff Jarrett starting for their respective teams. The two fought on the floor inside the cage, with Sting sending Jarrett's head into the steel mesh. When Sting threw The Chosen One into a ladder in the corner, Scott Steiner entered as Team Russo's next participant. Big Poppa and Jarrett worked over The Stinger, using the ladders around the ring as weapons in the two-on-one advantage. Team WCW's Kronic was the next into the ring; Steiner made his way to the second level and grabbed for a pair of bolt cutters. Adams and Clark immediately went to the second tier, doubling up on Big Poppa. Russo, wearing a hockey helmet and with some extra muscle courtesy of The Harris Brothers, was the next man in. The Harris Brothers climbed up and jumped on Kronic. Down in the ring, Sting splashed Russo and applied the Scorpion Deathlock. When Nash came in to help Steiner, Sting splashed them both, but missed on a second attempt. Kronic and The Harris Boys fought to the floor and into the crowd. Nash threatened to chokeslam, not only Russo, but Jarrett and Steiner as well when they tried to stop Big Sexy. Booker was the next to enter, flattening Russo with an axe kick, before Big Poppa and Nash stepped in. Goldberg entered as the final wrestler in the match, but was handcuffed to the cage upon his arrival. Big Sexy stood by the cage door on the bottom as Jarrett, Steiner, Booker and Sting climbed to the next level. Booker finally got to the top and grabbed the belt, but had to climb down and out to win. Sting was handcuffed to the second level, making Booker the only member of his team free to fight. The action worked its way down into the ring, where Russo took hold of the championship belt. The Cat entered the cage, karate kicking Vinnie Ru to the mat, before Nash delivered a Jackknife powerbomb. Goldberg broke free of the cuffs and squashed everyone, before taking the belt and heading to the door. Just as Goldberg was about to exit the cage as champion, Bret Hart appeared outside, slamming the cage door on Goldberg's head and knocking him to the floor. Russo again grabbed the belt, but was stopped by Nash who, after a brief pause, hugged Vince and walked out of the cage to retain the WCW Title.
