Tranquiliser Gun
Used by: Spy
Comments: Causes 3-4% damage, takes time between shots. Main use is too slow down enemies, silent and when hits them will drastically slow them down, allowing the spy to pull out his knife and finish off the job. Tranquilisers wear off with time, or can be healed by medics.
Nail Gun
Used by: Scout, Sniper, Spy
Comments: Weakest of rapid fire guns, pretty useless on most enemys (other than those on next to no health), best used on sentry guns if you can find a position to shoot from unseen as there bullets go straight at what you're aiming at.
Rail Gun
Used by: Engineer
Comments: Weak causing 3%-4% damage, slower than nailgun although slightly more powerful and just as accurate. As it is not used much by Engineers (as the shotgun is better) any Engineer carrying it could be an enemy spy, so watch out.
Single Shotgun
Used by: Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Medic, HW Guy, Pyro
Comments: A weak weapon that can be used for little else than finishing off opponents, slow to reload and also inaccurate.
Double Shotgun
Used by: Soldier, Medic, HW Guy, Engineer, Spy
Comments: MUCH better than single barreled, a weapon that will kill all but the heaviest classes quite easily, reload is slowish, and inaccurate over long distance, but perfect for close combat.
Super Nailgun
Used by: Medic
Comments: A "quite" powerful rapid fire gun, ineffective on soldier/hw guy. The double barreled shotgun is better in closed areas, but the nailgun is deadly accurate.
Auto Rifle
Used by: Sniper
Comments: Although the sound is satisfying when compared, it isn't much more powerful that the basic nailgun. But it is good to finish off enemies and for use when the enemy is too close for the sniper rifle, great for chasing the president in "Hunted".
Sniper Rifle
Used by: Sniper
Comments: Hold down the trigger til the red dot is at its brightest for maximum power, a direct head shot will kill most classes, the best weapon over long distances, but HL:TF doesn't provide many suitable areas.
Grenade Launcher
Used by: Demoman
Comments: Powerful on impact the perfect weapon in enclosed areas, poor over long distances though. Blows after a short time, or on impact when hitting an enemy.
Pipebomb Launcher
Used by: Demoman
Comments: Triggered by the secondary button, perfect for laying in areas regurlay walked over by the enemy (such as the main door on Well). There is a limit to how many can be layed.
Rocket Launcher
Used by: Soldier
Comments: Very powerful with splash damage, aim at their feet for maximum effect. It is, however, quite slow (easy to dodge over long distances) and very slow to reload.
Incendiary Cannon
Used by: Pyro
Comments: A poor weapon, provides more splash damage that the rocket launcher, and sets a small area on fire, but killing any class before you are killed is near impossible.
Flame Thrower
Used by: Pyro
Comments: Best of the Pyro's weapons, its special features of fire going through walls and setting people on fire rarely help, its best used is just to set everyone on fire causing confusion, you'll do well to kill anyone.
Assault Cannon
Used by: HW Guy
Comments: The ultimate weapon more than makes up for the HW Guy's speed, very fast very powerful rapid fire gun it needs to be refilled reguraly and slows down the HW Guy further still.
