Follow these steps and you will be on you way to writing your frist book. Yessssss!
Step one
Decide what sort of story you are going to write about.
e.g
Horror
Romance
Advanture
Step two
Choose the story you feel you can write must about. Then write ideas about that story onto paper
E.g - Romance
She travels by train.
She gets of train at 9.00pm
Walk for 15 mins to her hotel
She arives there at 9.20 at her hotel
etc......
Step three
Why not study other books which are simmlar to the sort of story you are writing about. It may give you ideas which might help you write your story.
When studying the book, why not look at for
How have they written it
the language
etc......
step four
Who are going to be in the story. I think its best to write a bit about the people who are going to be in the story following these ideas.
Name
Age
Sex female/male
Colour white/black
Family rich/poor
behaviour
Friends
Here is an example of one that I have done.
Ben
15
Male
White
His family is not that rich or poor
His behaviour can be good.
He has a few friends at school, James, willam and Ken
Step five
Pick from the notes you have wriiten about the people who are going to be in the story, who is the main person and who are the people around that person.
Step six
Now it is time to write your story, you can follow these ideas.
Write the outline of your story frist then fill in the middle afterwards
Write the beginning, the end and the middle part afterwards. The reason why you write the end after the beginning is so you know were the stoy is going.
I fell its best to write three pages a day.
Don't forget full stops and paragraphs, they help to make your story flow better.
When you have finished your story proof read it or get someone else to do it for you.
Print it out and photocoppy it, so you have one for yourself and one for the publishers.
Put the copy you are sending to the publishers in a nice clean wallet.
You can find publishers in the Yellow Pages or on the internet.
Good luck! |
