First, Oak will tell you the history about Pokemon. Register your name and your rival's. You'll start in your room. Go downstairs and exit your house. As you try to exit to the grass of Pallet Town, Oak will stop you. He says that it is very dangerous for you to go out their without a Pokemon. He'll take you to his lab. Note that your rival is there too.
Once you're in his lab, Oak will tell you to pick a Pokemon from his desk. Your rival will also get one. The choices are CHARMANDER, SQUIRTLE, and BULBASAUR. I suggest you to choose BULBASUAR. Your rival will pick a POKEMON that is more effective on yours. As you try to exit, your rival will battle you.
Head north of Route 1. There are many wild POKEMON here. Once you're in Viridian City, go into the Pokemart. The guy behind the counter will ask you to deliver OAK'S PARCEL to Oak. Go back to Pallet and give Oak his package.
Oak will say thanks, and your rival will come. Now Oak will give you two a Pokedex! Rival will brag away how he'll catch all the POKEMON. Go to your Rival's house and talk to his sister. She'll give you a TOWN MAP! Go back to Viridian City. Notice that there is a Pokemon Gym that is blocked off... Ignore that. Head to Route 2. Later, in a house, OAK'S AID will give you HM 5 FLASH for catching 10 POKEMON.
Now enter Viridian Forest. There will be many Bug Catchers here that will battle. There is a rare POKEMON called PIKACHU that might be pondering around the trees. When you're done exploring, go to Pewter City.
In Pewter City, there will be a museum that is about prehistoric POKEMON and space. Now go into Pewter Gym. You'll also have to fight a trainer to get to Brock. Leader Brock will use Rock type POKEMON. He has a GEODUDE and ONIX. Once you win, he'll give you a BOULDERBADGE.
Head on to Route 3. There will be a lot of trainers that are willing to battle you. Eliminate all of them and make your way to Mt. Moon. Also, there's a Pokecenter nearby that has a fat guy who sells a MAGIKARP for 500 bucks!!!
Go through Mt. Moon. You could find the rare CLEFAIRY. Also, there's a Super Nerd that will battle you. If you win, give you one of his POKEMON fossils. I forgot the names. One turns into a KABUTO and the other is a OMANTE.
After you exit Mt. Moon, head on to Route 4. There is nothing to do much. Head on to Cereulean City.
There will be a Bike Shop that sells a bike for $1,000,000,000!!! Rip off!!! A dude will also trade his JYNX for a POLIWHIRL. A officer will be blocking a house that has been trashed by TEAM ROCKET. Enter the Cerulean Gym. Get to Leader Misty and battle her. She uses Water type POKEMON and her lineup is STARYU and STARMIE. If you beat her, she'll give you CASCADEBADGE.
Go north to Route 24. Your rival will appear and battle. Beat him and start up the Nugget Bridge. You'll have to beat 5 trainers to win a prize. When you beat a the 5th trainer, a 6th dude will give you a NUGGET! He is also from TEAM ROCKET. He'll also battle you.
Route 25 has more trainers. Bor-ring... Continue to Sea Cottage....
Sea Cottage is where Bill lives. Bill has transformed into a POKEMON during one of his experiments. He'll ask you to help him transform his human form. If you do this, he'll give you a S.S. TICKET. You'll need that ticket to board the S.S. Anne. Now the house that was once blocked by the police. Go in and go through the hole through the wall. A Rocket will battle you. If you win, he'll give you a TM.
Head south to Route 5. There is a DAYCARE center here. Go into the UNDER GROUND TUNNEL. Go across and exit to Route 6.
Route 6 is one of those boring routes. More trainers...... Man I hate that.... Go into Vermillion City.
Once you're here, a FISHING GURU will give you a OLD ROD. If you into the POKEMON club, talk to the chairman. Listen to him yap and he'll give you a BIKE VOUCHER. You could exchange that for a BIKE at the Bike Shop. Go into the Vermillion Gym. The leader has put on a lot of security here. You'll have to find the 2 switches to open the gate to Lt. Surge. Surge uses Electric type. If you beat him, he'll award you the THUNDERBADGE.
Go east to Route 11. This is a dead end for now. There will be more trainers. At the end, there will be a sleeping SNORLAX that is blocking the path. Go back to Vermillion.
Enter S.S. Anne and fight the trainers there. Your rival will also be on board. Find him and prepare to fight. Once you get to the CAPTAIN's room. He'll be seasick. Talk to him and he give you HM 1, CUT. As you exit the ship, it will leave before your eyes!
Go back to Cerulean City and go east to Route 9. What's here? You know what.........trainers!!!!!!! Get through and head to ROCK TUNNEL. First, you'll need HM 5, FLASH. I forgot where to get it. Get through it and Enter Route 10. Another trainer route......
Go south to Lavender Town. If you try to enter the ghost tower, the ghosts will scare the heck out of your POKEMON. You'll need the SILPH SCOPE first. Noctice that you can't get into Saffron City. There are guards blocking the way. They also say that they are thirsty.... Go west to Route 8. There will be more trainers..... There is also a UNDERGROUND path nearby that leads you to Celedon City.
There are plenty of things to do here. In a restaraunt, a dude will give you a COIN CASE to store COINS in. Now you could gamble at the GAME CORNER. You could exchange your coins next door for POKEMON prizes. There is a POKEMON DEPARTMENT STORE that sells a variety of POKEMON needs. If you enter the POKEMON MANSION from the rear door and go to the top floor, you could get an EVEE for free!!! Just pick up its POKEBALL from the table that you see. Also, near the GAME CORNER, there's an old man across the water that will give you a TM called SOFTBOILED. Now go back to the GAME CORNER. There will also be a Rocket that is guarding a poster. He will battle. If you beat him, he'll move away. Press A on the poster and it will say that you've activated a switch button. Go a little right and you'll see a door. Enter it. This is one of Team Rocket's hideouts! There are pads that make you spin to a certain area. Your goal is to beat all the Rockets, retrieve the CARD KEY, activate the elevator with the key. Now you'll battle the 2 guards in front of the boss's desk. Beat them and head on to BOSS GIOVVANI. He is the leader of Team Rocket. If you beat him, he'll disappear and leave behind the SILPH SCOPE. Pick it up and leave.
Now you could fight the Celedon Leader, Erika. Her gym is full of girls that use grass POKEMON. A fire POKEMON will burn out the competition! If you beat her, she'll give you RAINBOWBADGE.
Now go back to Lavender Town and enter the ghost tower once more.... Now that you have the SILPH SCOPE, you could detect ghost POKEMON. There will be CHANNELER trainers here. Your goal is to find MR. FUGI who is now missing... Make your way through the trainers and POKEMON. Also, when you try to enter to 4th floor, a ghost of a MAROWAK will appear, you'll have to kill it. Make your way to the top floor to where Team Rocket is up to mischief again. Beat the Rockets and rescue MR. FUGI from them. He'll take you to his house where he'll give you a POKEFLUTE! Now you could wake up sleeping POKEMON.
You could also wake up the 2 SNORLAXES throughout this game. If you head down Route 12, there will be SAILORS that battle. Once you're near Route 11, you'll encounter 1 of the SNORLAXES. Also, FISHING GURU's older bro. will give you the GOOD ROD. Routes 13, 14 and 15 are to get to Fuchisia City. Another way to get to Fuchisia City is to go through Routes 16, 17, 18. Those routes are CYCLING RODE which slopes downhill. Also, on Route 16, a girl will give you HM 2, FLY.
Fuchisia City has a lot of this to do. This place looks like a zoo!!! If you go into SAFARI ZONE, you could get many rare POKEMON. You'll have to have to pay 500 to get in so make your time worth while and catch yourself a SCYTHER! Also, the WARDEN of this place has lost his GOLD TEETH and asks someone to retrieve it.... Deep in the SAFARI ZONE is the secret house in which a guy gives you HM 3 SURF! If you're reeady to face Leader Koga, enter his gym. He has put up invisible walls to fool people. Even though they're slightly visible, its hard to get through. Koga uses grass and poison POKEMON. Once victorious, he'll give you the SOULBADGE!
Fly back to CELEDON DEPARTMENT STORE and buy a FRESH WATER. Go to one of the Saffron guards and give it to him. Since he's thirsty, he'll take it and let you go through. In a house here, MR. PSYCHIC will give you TM 29 PSYCHIC. A 2 story building has a girl named COPYCAT who wants a doll. Buy her a POKEDOLL and she'll give you a TM called MIMIC.
Saffron seems to be infested with Team Rocket. They're all over the place! Here in Saffron, there is a large co. called SILPH CO. Enter the building and make your way through the Rockets. You'll also need a key to get through one of the doors. There is also a healing center in this building. Also, there are teleport pads which take you to a different place. Your rival will also fight you somewhere here. A dude will also give you LAPRAS as a help to save the building. Once you get to the PRESIDENT's room, GIOVVANI, Rocket Leader will fight you. Beat him and talk to the PRESIDENT. Here him yap and he'll give you the MASTERBALL! Use that wisely, you only get one.
There are 2 gyms at Saffron. One is the FIGHTING DOJO. If you beat him, he'll give you of 1 of his 2 POKEMON. the choices are HITMONCHAN and HITMONLEE. Pick one and go to the gym next door. Sabrina's gym is very hard to get through. There are teleport pads everywhere. Once you get to her, battle. She uses psychic POKEMON. Defeat her and you'll be awarded the MARSHBADGE.
Now go back to Fuchisia City. Surf down south towards Sefoam Islands. It's Route 19. There are many trainers out here. Sooner or later, you'll prop up the shores of Seafoam Is. Go into the cave. There are many challenging puzzles to get through. Also in this place, well hidden, there is a Legendary Bird! It's the ice type, Articuno. You should catch it. Once you get out of here, surf east to Cinnibar Island. This is Route 20.
On this island, there is a POKEMON LAB which ressurects POKEMON fossils. You'll notice that the gym is locked. You'll have to get the key first. The key is in the BURNED HOUSE. There are many POKEMON roaming around here. There is also trainers. In the last room you'll find, is the key to the gym!. Pick it up and head on to Leader Blaine's gym. Get through all the trainers and fight Blaine. Blaine is an old man who uses fire POKEMON. Wash him out with a water POKMEON. He'll then give you the VOLCANOBADGE.
You could skip Route 21 and FLY back to Cereulean City. Go back to ROCK TUNNEL.. Instead, surf in the water that is leading a path to the POWER PLANT. Once you're inside, there are wild electric POKEMON here. Some rare ones might be ELECTABUZZ. At the end of the POWER PLANT, there is another legendary bird!!! It is the electric bird, ZAPDOS!
Go back to Viridian City. Now..... The Virdian Gym that was once blocked off, is now open. Go inside the gym and battle the leader. Who is it anyway? It's the Team Rocket leader, GIOVVANI!!! He uses rock and ground POKEMON. Once you've defeated him, he'll give you the EARTHBADGE and will disappear!
Now head west to Route 22. Your rival will meet up and battle. Route 23 has officers that will only allow people with POKEMON badges to go through. Now head on to VICTORY ROAD.
VICTORY ROAD has many rare POKEMON. There are also many items to pick up. The puzzles here are very challenging. You could capture a legendary bird here. It is the fire bird, MOLTRES!!! Now that you're done poking around..... Exit and go to the INDIGO PLATEAU.
The INDIGO PLATEAU is home to the ELITE 4!!! What are you waiting for. Enter it! But make sure that you're packed with items and your POKEMON are high leveled.
The first challenge is LOREI. She uses ice type POKEMON. A fire type will do the job! Head on to the next room for the next one.
Head on to the next room. Here is BRUNO. He uses rock and fighting POKEMON. A water or strong grass POKEMON should do the trick!
Next up is AGATHA. She uses ghost POKEMON. Very tricky! Ghost don't like psychic!!! Once you are done, protrude to the next room.
Now head on to LANCE, THE DRAGON MASTER. Of cours, he uses dragon POKEMON. He is very hard. If you beat him, go to the next room............
Your next challenge is............YOUR RIVAL!!!!!! He is now very tough. You'll need guts to take him out! If you manage to beat him, OAK will come and take you to another room. He'll register your POKEMON that you used during the ELITE 4!
THe credits will scroll down. It will say the end.................. Or is it.................. There is rumors that you could capture MEWTWO in the UNKNOWN DUNGEON!!!!!!!!!!!
